AOC Could Soon Pay a Big Price As She Makes Same Defamatory Allegation Against Trump That Cost ABC $15M

Red State-

Progressive zealot New York City Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may think she can fire off any dim thought she has on social media, but the law says otherwise. See, you can’t just defame someone with false allegations. Just ask ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, who thought he’d label Donald Trump a “rapist” on live national television and there would be no consequences, because, you know, George was famous.

The incident cost his network $15 million, because in the real world, a jury did not find that the now-president was guilty of that abhorrent crime. In other words, Stephanopoulos was culpable of yet another incident of “fake news” emanating from our nation’s corrupt mainstream press.

But AOC might not be keeping up with current events, because she just made the same charge on social media and, according to many observers, opened herself up to potential serious legal consequences:

  1. Well she’s accumulated around 30 mil in six short years so there’s that much on tap, to put it in bartender’s terms!

    But of course a so-called “Fact Check” only shows about 300k…

  2. In this case make it 115 Million so she has to pay as long as she lives including to Trump’s survivors plus she resigns from Congress with a signed document preventing her from running for any kind of public office ever again. I guess she can go back to being a Bartender Czar.

  4. Here defense will be, Who me? I’m just a silly little girl. Funny how she draws that shit like a knife. She’s about to find out that won’t work in front of a judge. Not to mention I believe she’s currently under three separate investigations one of them being Campaign Finance Violations.

  5. “Now that she is a member of Congress, she could easily afford a $15 Million judgement”

    I’ve read, several times, that Congressional members have a slush fund to pay off people they’ve sexually abused.

  6. She may have protections that Stephanopoulos didn’t.

    Congressional Immunity Law and Legal Definition
    Congressional immunity refers to a special immunity that is granted to members of Congress. The following are the exemptions granted to the members of Congress under congressional immunity :

    1. A Congress member is exempted from arrest while attending a session of the body to which the member belongs, excluding an arrest for treason, breach of the peace, or a felony, or;

    2.A Congress member is exempted from arrest or interrogation for any speech or debate entered into during a legislative session.

    In In re Grand Jury, 821 F.2d 946 (3d Cir. Pa. 1987), it was held that congressional immunity is an evidentiary privilege that is applied broadly to evidence or testimony about all acts that occur in the regular course of the legislative process. It therefore applies to activity taken in the course of legislative fact-finding.

  7. RadioMattM: I think you’re right. What I posted did not seem to cover this situation but when you put lawyers in front of a hand-picked judge, well…

  8. She’s a little too comfortable making a slanderous comment about President Trump. Is this a FAFO moment or is she counting on the Deep State to provide financial assistance if she’s sued. Either way she’s proving again to be moronic.
