Afederal appeals court lifted a judge’s order on Friday that prevented the Trump administration from ending union bargaining for federal workers.
Six unions, including the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), had obtained an injunction that was issued by U.S. District Judge James Donato, a lower court judge.
A three-judge panel on the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals paused the injunction, which prevented 21 federal agencies from implementing Trump’s executive order from March ending union bargaining for federal workers.
Feddle legislation outright outlawing unions for govt workers would be good. What’s really horrible is that both govt unions AND the “civil service” protection racket co-exist.
Uncle Al: There is a reason they are better paid and have better benefits that the average working stiff.

Uncle Al: Because, as you said, they have union protection AND civil service protection. Nobody else has both of those benefits. No matter how tanked the economy may be, politicians always found the money to pay for the unions as long as they sent some of that money to the politicians’ pockets. I was not challenging what you said, I was emphasizing what you said.

A friend of mine worked for the department of defense. They had an impossible time firing anyone in a “protected” class. Consequently, the only way to get rid of a deadbeat was to assist them in getting a promotion into a different department. Ever wonder why gov’t agencies are so bad? It’s because they are run by idiots who got promoted into a position they didn’t deserve.

Oh dude. Get a load of this. we have a DCMA inspector that use to be an Oakland copper that while he worked there shot and killed two unarmed people. Previuos to that he was an M.P. Total whack job. We had him as an inspector for about 3 months. He got in my face once I got right back in his. Hard. The following week we had a new guy. He was assigned to a shop a young guy was running that we were friendly with. This asshole was demanding he address them as “SIR”. Wouldn’t sign their jobs off for weeks. Which delays payment exponentially. I’m pretty friendly with the guy that manages our local DCMA. Black guy. Not that that matters. Both of us are pistol shooters. So my young friend calls me up and asks for advice. I tell him I’ll fix this shit now. I call my pal up from the DCMA up and say, look man, in my best George Thourogood voice. He couldn’t fire him. The whack job was protected up the ass. But he fixed him. He transferred him to Europe. Best he could do.
“my best George Thourogood voice.” If that doesn’t impress him nothing will.
