Arizona State House passes a bill banning critical race theory in public schools

PM

The Arizona State House passed a bill Wednesday banning critical race theory indoctrination in public schools. The legislation, if approved by the Senate, would prohibit schools from promoting state-sanctioned racism and Arizona teachers could face a $5,000 penalty for teaching the ideology, if not counter balanced with an opposing perspective.

Rep. Michelle Udall R-Mesa said of the amendments to Senate Bill 1532, “We cannot allow children in our public schools to be taught that they are not created equal, that their skin color, ethnicity or sex somehow determines their character or actions. No forms of racism should enter our classrooms. Biased teaching needs to be stopped.”

Udall, who chairs the House Education Committee, introduced the amendment on Wednesday, which caused hours of debate, mostly from Democrats. The measure passed on a party-line vote. read more

  1. Racism has been significantly declining in the US for many decades and that is causing substantial problems for the evil left who rely on racism to maintain their power and wealth, hence their need to start teaching school children that they must be racist. That is after all what “Critical Race Theory” is– a curriculum to teach children to be racists. Thank God the right is pushing back against this evil.

Racism was never genetic, or instinctual. It is and always has been a learned behavior.

  2. There is an excellent article for this month’s Imprimis showing the connection between critical race theory and Marxism.
Basically he points out that because in America it is possible and often done that people can make their situations better and because we have a strong middle class they can’t use the traditional class division to take over with Marxism. They use race to try to make this a Marxist country.

  3. Some theories proposed by academics seem sound when presented as a theory only, but are utter failures when applied in the real world. Critical Race Theory is not one of these – it is a garbage theory as proposed and will likely have disastrous consequences if our idiot politicians try to apply it.

I have done some reading on CRT, and basically it boils down to everything is viewed through the lens of race. This is not who we are. This is not who we want to be. This is a theory designed perpetuate racism and to promote full and permanent employment for our current and future race hucksters.

But what about slavery? We have always been troubled by slavery – starting with the Constitution – and eventually we fought a civil war to end it. We worked through the Jim Crow era, and we have legislatively tried to make sure all citizens, regardless of race, are treated equally. It seems likely that none of these things would have been possible under CRT.

  4. If- God willing- this bill is fully approved, it’ll just be another excellent reason for me to encourage my brother and his family to move down here from Oregon. (Which is sad to say bc ecologically speaking? I would much rather live in Oregon, too bad it’s gone full homeless anarchy.)
