Campus Reform: Texas State University’s student government has rejected a resolution calling for the dissolution of the school’s police department.
This comes after four students were arrested for “various charges” during a protest where a “Make America Great Again” hat was ripped off of someone’s head, as previously reported by Campus Reform.
Texas State student government Sen. Claudia Gasponi, a student arrested during the protest, authored the resolution titled “The Removal of Excessive and Abusive Policing Resolution,”
The resolution, obtained by Campus Reform, states that “over-policing specifically targets and endangers people of color.”
“In order to be truly inclusive, the needs of people of color must be set as a priority and not an afterthought, especially in an institution that historically has disenfranchised people of color,” Gasponi states in the document.
The student senator says that the university police officers do not receive near enough training on issues like LGBTQIA+, de-escalation, and racial and disability-oriented sensitivity.

I don’t worry so much when I hear a story like this, because I know there are power-hungry jerks who want everyone to do things their way. I worry when I see acceptance of their views, like the election of Ilhan Omar and support for people who cozy to Farrakhan. In this case, while a few supported her idiocy the majority rejected it.
Of course she will now likely appeal to the media, who just love stories like this.
Sensitivity is what got us into this mess. They don’t need to be treated sensitively… they need to be treated like everyone else.

So a so-called student body officer is bemoaning the fact that students of color, who have the benefit of Affirmative Action priority rights over white folks, don’t have total immunity from all the sins and crimes they commit and its all the fault of the powerless white students!
