Dan Bongino: President Trump walked away from nuclear negotiations with North Korea today saying he would not give into Kim Jong Un’s demands to lift sanctions on the country prior to securing denuclearizaiton.
During a press conference after his meeting, the President said, “It was a very productive two days, but sometimes you have to walk and this was one of those times.”
Trump told reporters, “It was about the sanctions. Basically, they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety, and we couldn’t do that. They were willing to de-nuke a large portion of the areas that we wanted, but we couldn’t give up all of the sanctions for that.”
“I’d much rather do it right than do it fast,” he added. “…We’re in position to do something very special.” more here

All day yesterday, the NPC Master Negotiators in the media were so worried that Trump would take any deal he could get, because he’d need a “win” to show us after Cohen’s testimony decimated him. I guess now they’ll spin it as “Trump came home early with his tail between his legs, to deal with the devastating results of Cohen’s testimony.”
Some of these nay sayers fail to realize there’s a third seat at these negotiations and that’s China. China has no interest in seeing NoKo become friendly to the west. Watch US/China trade talks totally tank next week. We are in the drivers seat.
One of the most important parts of negotiating a deal is to never enter a negotiation you aren’t willing to walk away from if you don’t get what you want out of it.

I went with my little sister when she bought a used car. The dealer did his thing and we countered. When he got to the part of “Let me talk with my manager”, I told sis that when he came back, we would say “no” and start to leave.
He came back with a stupid ‘deal’, I told sis, “You don’t need a car. We can continue to ride-share.” She told the dealer, “Thanks, but no thanks”, we started to get up and ‘all of a sudden’ he remembered a ‘deal’ he could offer to sweeten the sale.
Took just a little longer to actually get him to offer the price we told him at the beginning that sis could pay. She got the car.
