Astronomers observe black hole ‘spaghettification’ of a star for the first time

Just The News

Scientists recently recorded the first known direct observation of the “spaghettification” of a star by a black hole, a process by which the star is pulled apart and devoured by the massive astronomical object.

  1. “Knowledge is never wasted.”

So every ridiculously stupid study is really justified just it promotes knowledge?

I’m of a different mind and think too much knowledge being put to use is the major problem we face today.

  2. “There’s a difference between “knowledge” and “ridiculously stupid study.””

Ridiculously stupid studies produce knowledge. That can’t be denied.

And, your claim is: “knowledge is never wasted”.

My claim is that a good deal of knowledge is simply worthless and of no value, as well that much of it is actually detrimental to us.

  3. The article is misleading. Black Holes and their devastation of stars were discovered back in 1964. Einstein said that black holes did not exist and he was proven wrong. Scientists always change their mind about scientific discoveries, they overshadow their errors and never apologize for their errors either. Spaghetti? Just another word to make it look like a big deal.

The first black hole ever discovered was Cygnus X-1, located within the Milky Way in the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan. Astronomers saw the first signs of the black hole in 1964 via gas it sucked away from a closely orbiting blue supergiant star.Feb 19, 2021

  4. If you’re really interested in space stuff, I highly recommend Lex Fridman, he’s a MIT professor specializing in AI. He has guests on his podcast that I call geniuses. This guy is on top of it: Avi Loeb is an astrophysicist at Harvard.
