Atheists target Muslim prayer rooms at U of Iowa

WT: The Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation is demanding that the University of Iowa close its designated Muslim prayer rooms, which the atheist group has deemed unconstitutional.

In a press release on the FFRF website, the group complained about two gender-segregated Muslim prayer rooms recently established at the Iowa City campus, as well as a Latin cross displayed at the university chapel.

“The presence of such religious venues on a public campus raises a number of issues,” the group argued. “By instituting areas that are exclusively used by specific religious groups such as Christians and Muslims, the University of Iowa is violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. … The organization is also concerned that the university is facilitating the discriminatory practice of gender segregation practiced in the Muslim prayer rooms.” more

  1. And with garbage of Obama’s half of America demanding men be let into little girls’ restrooms and showers, the gender separating thing can’t be for behind.

I’ll bring some beer to go with that popcorn.

  2. I love it when the Left eat their own. . . . . . .

    DING! DING! DING! DING!
    LAYDEEES AND GENTLEMENNNNN. . . .
AND NOW FOR THE MAIN MATCH OF THE DAY.
    IN THIS CORNER, THE FRFF!!!
AAAAAND IN THE OPPOSITE CORNER, CAIR!!!!

    MAY THEY BOTH LOSE!!!!

  3. The school need only demand that the “atheist group” demonstrate how the prayer rooms or cross constitute a national religion.

If they can’t (which they can’t) they should be told to eat shit and die. The 1st Amendment allows the free practice of religion, just not the establishment of a STATE (that is, NATIONAL) religion.

    izlamo delenda est …
