Attention ladies: Tactical Yoga Pants!

Oops. Sorry. Ladies AND gentlemen. I won’t judge if you’d like a pair to wear yourself, gentlemen.
OK that’s a lie, I will judge you – but keep reading anyway. 🙂

Backwoods Home Magazine:   GETTING INTO THOSE TACTICAL YOGA PANTS…

I see more than one pair of dainty little feet kicking my butt for that title, but I couldn’t resist…

Back at the beginning of the year, at the firearms industry’s biggest trade exposition, the SHOT Show (stands for Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade for those who came in late) I wrote about 5.11 brand’s new Tactical Yoga pants.  And I promised, no, I won’t be the one testing them.

Our designated tester was the lovely Sonja McCarthy, a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a competitive shooter and licensed pistol-packer.

Sonja reports: “I really like them!  I tested size medium, and they fit true to size.  At five feet tall, they fit all the way to my ankles instead of the usual Capri length, which is another plus in my opinion. I REALLY liked the fact that they were both flexible and supportive, you don’t see the dimpling that some of us over millennial age might show after having two children.  The wide waistband helps reduce muffin top.  For concealed carry they were tried with a number of holsters.

  1. Yea well 511 as bad ass as they are, are still designing carry wear for women like they were men. Well I guess at least they are not selling purses. That’s really stupid. I recommend a couple new manufactures of carry wear designed by women to my customers. All that’s at work and if anybodies interested I will forward it tomorrow. But think about this, what’s the widest part of the female anatomy? And where are they trying to park that pistol? That pistol belong 5 inches higher and there’s some women designers that have done that.

  2. But that’s me, That statements so dumb I really doubt if you carry. Do you really think tactical clothing looks like you’ve just been in the big sand box today? Come on, fess up, you don’t even own a gun.

  3. The entire concept behind 511 is to look cargo pants casual while carrying. Besides that, 90% of the cool dudes that buy 511 stuff can’t spell gun. I own a shit load of 511 pants and shorts and honestly they don’t look any different than any other brand of cargo pants or shorts you can purchase, with one exception. The mag pocket on the left side. How many people can spot that? But it’s worth it weight in gold.

  4. That’s my point someone who takes the time to buy tacticle clothing is more likely to be CCW. Of course there are people who buy them and don’t carry.
I look for tacticle clothing as a first hint the person is/might be carrying.
But I have to wear a ‘suit’ when at work

  5. If you want to spot some one carrying sir, look for the guy wearing blue jeans with a big ass untucked shirt. That’s your man. That’s what I wear. I don’t wear the 511 unless I’m selling.

  6. Yep,I agree. That’s the other ‘hint’ the guy with the shirt out.
Or the guy wearing extra clothing like a big vest or extra large shirt.
I talk to people on the street everyday and I have to make a calculated
Decision is he carrying or not.
And tactile clothing is the first thing I look for.

  7. It’s my part of my job. Sometimes I have to talk to people who are not happy to see me. By the way I mean no disrespect to you.
I come to this site hoping you are here. You really know your stuff.

  8. So your LEO? Am I your enemy or you freind? I’ll guarantee you Im better with a pistol than most LEO are. In fact 99.999 %. I can clear concealed and put 10 in the same spot at 25 yards in a heart beat. My local LEO says they will not support any anti constitutional laws. That’s groovy. So I asked this question, when the Feds show up to try and confiscate my weapons and I smoke a bunch of them, are you coming after me, or showing up to protect me and my rights? No answer.

  9. I’m on your side all the way. I will give up my life to defend you or anyone.

Don’t you ever walk around and wonder who is carrying and who is not. If there is an active shooter I want to find
someone who is armed to back me up.

My wife says I probably pissed you off. I meant no harm.
I just wanted your honest opinion and I got it.

  10. No you did not piss me off. Our county just started handing out special ccw ID cards for those they think are experienced shooters. They tell us you could be deputized, our Sherrif is bad ass and he’s obviously expecting something bad to happen. That’s not hard to figure out. And then again I asked the question about the Feds or CalDoj coming to get my weapons. No answer. I really don’t make a habit of fighting battles I know I can’t win.
