VOE:
Austrians could stop paying taxes for leftist public broadcaster ‘that spreads propaganda’
Millions of Europeans are obliged to pay taxes for public broadcasters with a mostly left-wing bias. Examples are the BBC in the UK, the ZDF in Germany and the NOS in the Netherlands.
In Austria the people are already increasingly opposing this model. Especially after broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) has turned into “a political playground for leftist propagandists”, Austrian news outlet Wochenblick reports.
This partly started after the formation of Austria’s new right-wing coalition government of the FPÖ and the ÖVP parties. But the “manipulated contributions” of the public broadcaster are raising opposition in the country. more here
Thank God are is conservative republican
That’s why algore invented teh interwebz; so you can watch what you want on that, & leave the leftard box behind! 😀
Canada has the CBC, partially funded by tax dollars. The CBC was the PR agency for Justin Trudeau during the election campaign.
guess what? … US citizens are sick of paying for leftist TV too!
… particularly PBS … & their NPR radio crap
progressive taxes
gholly, who thought of that one?
Shitcan npr and pbs to start. How many states put funding to them too?
NPR and PBS’ ass used to be beautiful.
Federal tit-sucking propagandist parasites are never a good idea!
It’s pledge drive time on PBS again, I hate pledge drives, between Doo Wop and Emmy Lou Harris last night. “Please, oh please give us some money so we can keep these programs coming.” NOT! I quit listening to NPR in the mid 80’s and will never give them a wooden nickle to help them promote their crap, both PBS and NPR.
Send them Travis Smiley. Can he tap dance?
Geoff — Funny thing about PBS. You can always tell it is pledge week by looking at the TV listings. If they’re are showing music shows with artists from the past, you know it is pledge week. They do not show those kinds of programs during regular programming, or should I say non-pledge week programming as pledge weeks seem about as regular as non-pledge weeks.
And they are not “keeping the music alive.” Back in the ’80’s they were keeping big band music alive. Now that that generation has died off, they aren’t keeping it alive much any more. Twenty years from now PBS won’t be playing music from the ’60’s. They aren’t keeping music alive, they are sucking up to the people who have money. As soon as that group dies, so does the music.
When I need a laugh, I watch the PBS Newshour. Not that it’s at all funny.
But it is invariably laughable.
Though I can’t bear to watch it other than on rare occasion.
