Ay ay ay! Mexico’s President Nieto has cancelled his meeting with President Trump

‘We Demand Respect’: Mexican President Responds to Trump’s Executive Orders.

Townhall: With the swipe of a pen on Wednesday, President Trump green lighted the construction of a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and vastly increased the presence of border agents. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto soon expressed regret over the new U.S. leader’s actions and pledged to protect Mexicans already in the States.

“Where there is a Mexican migrant at risk that requires our support, your country should be there,” Peña Nieto said in a brief address to his nation, which he said was a response to Trump’s actions earlier in the day.

“Our communities are not alone,” Peña Nieto said. “The Mexican Government will provide them with the legal advice, which guarantees the protection they require.

The 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S. will be advocating on behalf of Mexicans, Nieto explained. He added (again) that he does not intend to pay for Trump’s border wall.

“Mexico offers and demands respect as the fully sovereign nation we are,” he insisted.

Nieto is apparently so distressed by Trump’s executive actions that he is considering canceling their scheduled meeting for next week, where they were due to discuss not only immigration, but trade.

Trump said that if Nieto is not willing to pay for the wall, he can go ahead and cancel.  MORE

  1. Avoiding the problem won’t make it go away, Enrique. You saw Obama, and how that worked out for him. Just follow Trump’s lead, and he’ll show you how you can pay for the wall and still get yourself reelected in the process.

  2. We’re about to see what the percentage of wire transfers back to Meh-hee-co make up their national income (and you know they charge taxes on those incoming wires). Add to that the loss of income on drug smuggling and that corrupt nation is going to have to find another line to go into.

  3. this is good

they have raped the us for decades, pushed tens of millions of poverty and crime problems north for us to deal with, taken complete advantage of nafta to rip off the us

and now they close the door to working with us

smart move, nieto, you have now confirmed that mexico loses to the us as a first, looking forward to your next move

mr trump, the door is now open to move forward, godspeed

  4. WINNING! What a gift from Mexico’s proud Presidente. Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad! Remember San Jacinto! Remember that the Make America Great Again Wall is going to get built, and Mexico is going to pay for it! God speed, President Donald J. Trump!

  5. Why didn’t Mexico help protect our (and their) border all these years?
They almost seemed to promote illegal crossing.
They protect their own southern border.
They should fix their country so that so many people don’t want to leave.

  6. I think that the Mexican Presidente didn’t have a choice but to cancel else his homecoming would not have been fun. Although if I were Trump I might have not signed the Wall order just before his visit. I would have drastically increased the Border Patrol as he did but might have given Nieto one last chance to agree to some face saving agreement before putting pen to paper. About the 50 consulates proving legal help, would be damned easy to close most of them down. Mexico has no arrows in it’s quiver when it comes to Trump and if they want to avoid complete collapse they better start realistic bargaining and not political bellowing.

  7. The illegal alien invading rat-people will have all the protection they need simply by returning.

    See how that works?

    Rat-people go home; rat-people safe!
    Everybody happy.

    izlamo delenda est …

  8. “Mexico offers and demands respect as the fully sovereign nation we are,” That’s rich! He declares Mexico’s sovereignty and yet the US should not act as a sovereign nation. Letting Mexicans come on in, get a job and/or get on welfare because the sovereign nation of Mexico should have access to the pockets of the American taxpayers.

  9. Just to keep the record straight, President Trump backed the Mexican president into a corner — he trumped him. Mexico had to cancel, it was not a preemptive move by Mexico (as is being reported) on the great chess board. Trump: man of action, master negotiator. Now Mexico is two down and it will take two moves (sacrificing two moves) to get back on even ground, probably not doable. And the wall just cost Mexico more than it would have 24 hours ago. Winning!

  10. Vamanos Enrique!
I don’t care if you have to straddle two mules with your Tia Rosita on your back, get up there and make nice with President Trump or he’ll make us pay to deport the illegals!!!

  11. What the f*ck is it to you if we build a wall on our own border?? If Canada builds a wall I would care zero percent. This reaction just shows how important the wall is for our country.

  12. EXACTLY JON!! BUILDING A WALL IMPEDES MEXICO’S “PROGRESS”, I.E. RIPPING OFF THE U.S.!!!

IT’S LIKE PUSHY GALORE SAID ABOVE TOO, FIX YOUR DAMN COUNTRY!!! YOU HAVE RESOURCES, YOU HAVE THE MANPOWER, ONLY MISSING THAT ONE PIECE – A NON-CORRUPT GOVERNMENT!!!

  13. “Mexico offers and demands respect as the fully sovereign nation we are,” he insisted.”

“Sovereign Nation”? Is this in regards to border control and legal immigration? If so, Nerdo you are the one who violated our nation and should apologize. Take all of your citizens and the people who used your country to infiltrate the United States and screw up our country. Oh and go screw yourself!

  14. Time for Trump to assign “Lil’ Enrique” one of Trump’s patented Linguistic Kill Shot nichknames:

    “Poco Enrique”?

    “Presidente Pobre”?

    “La Cucaracha?”

Spanish with its female-specific vocabulary offers Trump a wealth of new opportunities.

Mexico’s already lost. The ruling elite just have to bluster and posture for their audience back home.
Building the Wall will accelerate the collapse of the failed Mexican cartel narco state. Rough hombres.
Things will likely get Mad Max ugly down there.
But that was always inevitable. History and gene pools.

  15. We gave Mexico $51 million in foreign aid in 2013. Presumably more each of the last 3 years. So President Trump can stop that immediately. Should make a nice down payment on the beautiful wall.

  16. Step 1- State Dept issues travel restriction for US citizens to go to mexico a la Iran, North Korea, etc.-Tourism dollars dry up.
Step 2- Simply end run around the municipalities and enforce the laws against hiring illegals. Frog march the employers and C-suite staff on television and simply tell the workers the business is closed and seized pending trial. The workers will get the hint as will other employers. The sanctuary cities can’t do shit about it since the feds are enforcing the federal law, not their police forces.
Step 3- go after property owners that are illegally renting to illegals and seize the property, evict the illegal alien tenants (sorry muchacho, no casa for you), and auction the property off. Watch hordes of illegal tenants hit the streets in short order. Offer them safe shelters in deportation camps, otherwise they are on their own.
Step 4- tax every single wire transfer at 80% that goes to mexico. No remisos, no economy.
Step 5- in the states where it’s been legalized, use some of that federal land to grow Uncle Sam’s finest marijuana and sell it for cost. Undercut the cartels the same way the feds undercut businesses. Watch them implode from diminished funds.
Step 6- wait about 6 months for mexico to approach collapse, when they relent, add in the cost for the last 8 years of tuition, emergency room care, and other costs to the bill and wait for the check to clear before giving them reprieve.

  17. Excellent ideas, Sapper Chris. I agree with the exception of #5. We should be growing our own crop commodities, like corn, wheat, soy etc. with those federal lands. We have enough stoned snowflakes in this country. The result is lame-brain millenial anarchists.
It would probably be best to let Th US Border Patrol and the Coast Guard take care of the drug trafficking crisis. Thanks to Mr. Trump, they finally get to do what they were created to do – protect our borders.
