CFP: This weekend, the Baltimore Police Department closed down multiple city streets around the Inner Harbor, in a stretch called Fells Point, after dozens of local businesses threatened not to pay taxes because they’re ‘fed up and frustrated’ with the rise in violence.
Last week, 37 restaurants and small businesses sent a letter to the mayor’s office. This comes as State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby halted petty crime arrests during the scamdemic.
What’s happened in the historic bar strict is absolute mayhem at night, transformed into a dangerous area where violent and rowdy crowds have ruined the once pleasant atmosphere along with multiple shootings.
One of the concerned business owners is Bill Packo, who owns Barley’s Backyard and has been operating in Fells Point for three decades — “It’s a shame. What they’re letting happen to Fells Point is what they let happen in the Inner Harbor, and now it has made its way here. There’s alcohol being sold by individuals out there, drugs, and clearly we all know about the shootings that took place last weekend. But there needs to be some control out there. There is none whatsoever.” more

I live near the shithole, and haven’t been to the shithole for years. I would turn down a free Ravens ticket. The idiots that live there and keep voting the morons in that run the shithole deserve exactly what they get. Feel sorry for the business owners though. I used to go down to Fells Point quite a bit.
Best bet is to sue collectively.
There are ways to legally withhold funds for services not rendered. (Canuckistan)
If they send their taxes to a lawyer who holds the funds in Trust/custody, with notification to the tax dept. & Court until the city does their jobs they should be fine. (possibly)
Not Paying is illegal, but placing the funds in a third party who will clearly pay could show a judge that they have no intention to avoid their legal obligations.

Mosby says these low-level crimes “have nothing to do with public safety”. They have EVERYTHING to do with public safety, you dumb ass. Unaddressed low-level crime is the gateway drug to major crimes.
I know dems in Baltimore–wealthy, Jewish, rabid, gated community dems. They cannot find fault with anything done by their party, ever.
