Baseball Star Torii Hunter Returns To Minnesota and Gives a Lesson On How To Deal With the Media

Some writer kept trying to bait Hunter into ruining his presser by harping on statements he’s made in the past about gay marriage.

Hunter says gay marriage is against his religious beliefs, and some reporters like to talk about this at every turn.

  1. To be fair, I also know one other baseball name – Mel Stottlemyre. Although, I couldn’t pick him out of a line-up.
Full disclosure: For reasons too complicated to go into here I also know all of the 1969 NY Mets. But that’s IT.

  2. Tell me again why it is necessary for any athlete to even agree to a press conference. Stop feeding the press. If you’re doing well, they’ll tear you down…so later when you are doing poorly…they can build you up again. All to sell their product.

Stay away from them. They ARE pricks. Even the females.

  4. I do know baseball. Hunter has always been a solid, bankable talent. 18 yrs in The Show, .279 lifetime hitter. He’s on the downhill side of an above average career. Team player, not a lot of jive Cadillac in him. A Christian who knows his Bible. Never been involved with ‘roids, no off-field messy hooker stuff, seems like a good family man. He returned to the Twins to finish out his career but now the Press long knives will be out for him in the ultra-Lib Mpls-St. Paul homoplex for the revolutionary act of truth speaking.

  5. Torii, thank you for giving the media what they deserve! Keep giving it to them! Now watch how he will be treated by the media. He will be attacked by them. Torii, you got my support! Keep up the good work. Btw, you may want management to set up an “Objectivity and Impartiality Contract.” This way, any and all contact between yourself and the media can be controlled and verified so that they cannot use the material that you provide to them to misrepresent yourself!
