Bass: There Were Warnings About Fire I ‘Wasn’t Aware Of’

Breitbart: During a portion of an interview with FOX 11 Los Angeles released on Tuesday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated that “there were warnings, that I, frankly, wasn’t aware of” before the fires in the city.

Bass said, “We need to look at everything about the preparation and all of that for the fires, because, I think, when we evaluate that, we will find that, although there were warnings, that I, frankly, wasn’t aware of, although there were warnings, I think our preparation, it wasn’t what it typically is. Meaning that, before there’s a major weather event, for example, last week, when we knew we were going to get into the rains, you saw us come together and us talk about get your sandbags, bring the K-rails out, that type of preparation didn’t happen. If that had, I will tell you, Elex, I wouldn’t have even gone to San Diego, let alone leave the country.”

Host Elex Michaelson then asked, “But what do you mean there were warnings you weren’t aware of? Because I know we were talking about it on the news. A lot of people were talking about the problems, warning that this was going to be a huge deal.” more

  1. I spent a quarter century observing it and this is what it morphed into. This is exactly how everything at City Hall goes down these days. The sick bastards are all too happy to break out the gold shovels and take credit for what others have accomplished, but let them shitmix something and there isn’t a goddamn one who will own up to what THEY are responsible for. I’d say that I could count on one hand and have fingers left over the number of non represented staff who would not look for someone else to fob off responsibility for something they fucked up onto.

  2. I think we may have some good evidence here that points to ONE of the major problems: The mayor is a stupid lying sack of shit fixated on blaming someone – ANYONE – else for her own failures.

It has always been there, but in the last five to ten years years that is what I observed being rewarded and the least ethical, ambitious, conniving sonsabitches pay attention and emulate it and have been rewarded.

I just read that. I guess it’s the new black defense. “Why oh why did you let me stick up that licker store and kill all those whitey peoples.” How fucking stupid can you get?

  5. I lived in SoCal & Frisco(they hate it when you call it that)way back in the 70s.
They had wild fires and mud slides, it wasn’t as ecowacko then as it is now.
What the heck does she mean nobody told her? Heifer, your job is to ask questions and offer solutions.
I’m beginning to disspare, thinking, critical, analytical, creative, and more, they were once taught in school.
Guess it’s gone, along with cursive writing.

  6. LA Mayor Karen Bass: We’re launching investigations to find out why nobody told me that I shouldn’t have gone to Africa while my city burned

Not one, but TWO investigations to find those responsible for not telling her not to go to Africa. Well there goes more hard-working, over-taxed-payer dollars flying out the window!
I just want to know who is responsible for not telling this imbecile to stay in Africa once she go there!!
This is nothing more than a tax payer funded Snip hunt to prove a negative!
    Karen Bass… Whut a stinking, Commie bowl-winder!

  7. All she needs to do is look in a mirror to find the (ir)responsible party.

That said, what kind of squirrelled-up government does not have plans in place for a foreseeable, if not likely, scenario? The Bass-turd isn’t wielding a hose, or even directing such an event. Go to Africa. Stay in Africa. Let them eat cake!

  8. Bass wasn’t aware of warnings? When appropriate, every news outlet issues “red flag warnings” which means elevated fire danger due to low humidity, high temperatures and/or windy conditions. These same news outlets are also pretty good about predicting Santa Ana winds. And if you have lived in California for more than two years, you pretty much know what high fire danger looks like. Bottom line – we got warnings frequently.
