American Thinker: In an interview with “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on MSNBC on Wednesday, presidential candidate Peter Francis O’Rourke admitted that, yes, he was willing to pry your AR-15 from your cold dead hands. As Townhall.com reports:

Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke said “there have to be consequences” for gun owners who do not surrender their AR-15s, which would include police going to their homes and confiscating them…

“OK, but let’s just assume there’s a rancher in Texas that doesn’t, that says, ‘I’m not going to do this because this is an unjust law and it’s unconstitutional.’ What’s the next step? I think that’s what we need to concede because there will be people that don’t turn the guns back in. What’s the next step for the federal government there?” Scarborough asked.

“Yeah, I think just as in any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there have to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law,” O’Rourke replied. “So you know, in that case I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.”

First of all, Beto, just what law would that be?

  4. What happens when they think I’ve got that gun, but I really don’t? They have every right to flip my house inside out to search for it? Then I should be able to sue the piss for unlawful search. Or are they just going to purchase what was my tidy house back from me?

  14. The only thing good to come out of Waco is that Janet Reno is dead, and it caused a tit-for-tat bombing. Ruby Ridge was another up yours tragedy. The public that is armed knows what the government is capable of doing. Stand your ground. It’s impossible to confiscate every firearm and ammo from American citizens without a great deal of blood shed.

  17. I would love to see bito, since he wants it so bad, to go out for a photo shoot, which he loves so much, and try to take some law abiding citizens legal firearm.

    Go ahead and try it bito, you will get a lot of innocent citizens, and a lot of law enforcement officers killed.

    But, since you believe in abortion until it is time for euthanasia, you won’t care.

  18. Red Flag Law will result in most posters on this board being listed as a confiscation target…so, do we cower and not express our opinion ? Some might take that route, others will not and face the wrath of Progressives and their Laws..Molon Labe, let slip the dogs of war, as the Left is serious about enslaving us to their whims..

  23. As I recall. Early this summer 4 Philly PD went to serve a warrant on a drug dealer. He had an AR16 and opened fire. Standoff ensued that lasted 8 hours. Dozens of cop cars and SWAT. Maybe 50 police. Guy finally surrendered. Neighbors cheered him and heckled the police.

    Now, with 12 million AR owners and even only 10% resisting the jackboots would have the above situation happen 1.2 million times. They would also have to conduct all those seizures at the same time lest the owners hide their weapons.

    It would never work, ever.
