Harbinger’s Daily:
The couple who became famous from HGTV’s popular Fixer Upper show, Chip and Joanna Gaines, made headlines recently because they are professing Christians, and yet they platformed two men in a gay “marriage” on their new show. Reportedly, in response to the outcry from Christians, the couple claimed, “Doesn’t the Bible say ‘judge not’; who are you to tell people what they can, and cannot do?” Well, the Bible tells us what we can and can’t do as Christians!
There are few verses in Scripture that are mishandled as much as Matthew 7:1, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” Whenever someone quotes that verse, as apparently the Gaineses did, to justify embracing or turning a blind eye to sin, they are completely ignoring the context. more
You are not to judge those outside the church. You are specifically instructed to judge those within.
If they don’t repent from their sin, ‘with such a person, do not even eat a meal’.
Right, but, outside the church, if I see a 400lb male ballerina with a machete, I’m gonna judge. As I’m running away. lol
Judgment includes a sentence or condemnation. Don’t forget “by their fruits shall you know them”.
We are to decern or deceide if the works/fruits are good or evil without condemning them.
Luke 17
They had to bake the cake, or get stuck in court for years by the gaystapo, and lose everything they built. They might be Christians, but they make their living in a Talmud-based industry.
Sadly, the judgment between political parties has been elevated to a hateful level where democratic constituents are directed to despise their ‘perceived’ adversaries.
Thank you very much to the democrat party.
The democrat party has been proven over and over how much they deplore all that is good or beneficial to America which makes them totally Anti-American.
Judge and be judged.
I have used the “judge not” language on occasion, but only in the context of the eventual punishment. Particularly with some of the more esoteric or lesser known sins, I take offense at folks whose argument is “you are going to hell.” Sorry, that’s not your call – that duty belongs to God.
But judging actions that are against Biblical mandates is proper. In my view, mutilating children because you wanted a girl instead of a boy is wrong, as is abortion, murder and numerous sexual sins. I can, and should judge those acts in the context of whether or not I support or condone such conduct and how I live my life, but the eternal punishment is not up to me.
And everyone should thank God it isn’t up to me.
Anyone who says, “Judge not lest ye be judged.” is either a moron or a morally bankrupt piece of shit manipulating someone to tolerate their evil bullshit or someone else’s evil bullshit. We are a thinking species with complex moral codes. Judging is exactly what we should be doing at all fucking times.
You should not judge but nowhere does it say you can’t inspect your fruits.
I believe the context was the issue of hypocrisy. Keep your own faults in mind when making judgments of others. By the standard that you judge others, you will be held to the same. Judge but with humility.
What’s one sin to a sinless God?
A well written explanation of scripture. Thanks, MJA.
People who are morally corrupt, by definition Godless use the “Judge not, that you be not judged.” scripture, even though they have no relationship with God through Christ. They think it’s their loophole to continue amoral or compromised behavior – as if God would be ok with it.
The Gaines’ are reprobate. Making up their own morality and excusing evil. True Christians would not defend or support a lifestyle that is abhorrent to God, like homosexuality and pedophilia. They would instead share the Gospel as reasonably as possible in love.
Letting the Godless know they’re living in a way that is harmful according to God based on His Word. Christians must honor God’s judgement by accepting and obeying His standards which are in place for our protection, our good. God truly loves us.
Here is a perfect summary of the concept of God’s judgement;

Agreed, AbigailAdams. Great find, MJA. Ken Ham is an excellent apologetic speaker and author. Also, Wyatt. I really like your insightful comments.
I abhor “fixer upper” shows in the first place.
if thou doest fuck around, surely thou shalt findest out.
Some people sell their soul and the Gainses didn’t want to lose the money they could potentially make from this (stupid looking) new show.
They should have taken a lesson from Neil McDonough.
They have tons of money by now but they’re making it look like they don’t have enough
“What’s one sin to a sinless God?”
Hell for the sinner. God made a way for you to escape that sentence, but if you don’t take it, Justice demands the punishment.
The Most Mishandled Verse: Christian Zionist are not quoting God’s words to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 (“I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”), but rather, they are quoting Balaam’s words in Numbers 24:9, “Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.” Balaam was the first false prophet to change the singular noun God spoke to His friend Abraham, to the plural noun, i.e., the entire tribe of Israel. Mishandled then, false then, false now.
Not. even. close. The most mishandled verses are from Matt 5-7, where Messiah Yahshua REAFFIRMS the ongoing application of the The Way of Truth in Life: Every Word Which Proceeds from the Mouth of YAHWEH.
No one has created as many FALSE NARRATIVES (‘cunningly devised fables’) than the religions of rabbinic judaism and xianity. In most of these man made doctrines they call both YAHWEH and Yahshua liars.
The promised Messiah did NOT start a ‘new and improved’ anything, He came to show the Perfection of what was, is and is to be The Way of Truth in Life: Do these and live, how do I inherit eternal life, what is the greatest commandment Master…etc etc ad infinitum.
It is NOT the ‘old testament’, it is the everlasting (Leh-Olam) covenant. Yes, renewed (shadow in Deut 10, et al), but STILL THE SAME requirement for ‘holiness’ Tzadiq or set apart.
The time is VERY SHORT for you to understand that there is a choice coming, and most of the followers of their man made religions will be asking ‘what went wrong’ or ‘why am I still here’, etc… The answer will be in the back of your mind, but because you were taught so differently from Scripture and the writings of the Apostles, you may very well choose WRONG!
You can also find a verse that tells you to judge with the correct judgement. If you judge based on your own limited intelligence, experience, and viewpoint then it’s YOUR judgement. If you use the judgement that God has already given, then you are on the right road.
