Biden urged by 18 state attorneys general to classify illicit fentanyl as weapon of mass destruction

JTN

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong are leading a multistate, bipartisan effort urging President Joe Biden to classify illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction (WMD).

“I first called for President Biden to take swift action in July and call fentanyl what it is – a weapon of mass destruction,” Moody said. “Now, I am leading a bipartisan coalition of 18 attorneys general demanding the president take action now, declare fentanyl a WMD and join us in our fight to prevent the death and destruction caused by this highly-lethal substance from getting even worse.”

In July, Moody called on the president to designate fentanyl as a WMD but she hasn’t heard back. Now 17 attorneys general, both Republicans and Democrats, are joining her.

“Treating this solely as a narcotics control problem has failed to curb the proliferation of increasing quantities of chemicals that can cause a mass casualty event. Your own DEA Administrator has called fentanyl ‘the deadliest threat [the DEA] ha[s] ever seen.’ We should treat it as such – thus bold action must be taken,” the AGs wrote. MORE

  1. Sure. Let’s ask the fraudulently installed guy to impose laws he has no right to impose anyway with the full knowledge that all of the Democrat Alphabets will filter whatever insanity he signs through their selective enforcement filters, to later be adjudicated bu corrupt Democrat judges.

You know, like The ‘Patriot’ act.

    What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

“This is FJB’s way of telling us that he is profiting off of Fentanyl trafficking.”

…exactly. He wouldn’t use it to cut off Fentanyl.

He would use it so the full might of the United States Armed Forces could be used to enforce his monopoly.

  3. I think there should be some of them crack pipe and syringe dispensing vending machines put on martha’s vineyard. They’ll have to change them over from being ebt access, to taking major credit cards.
Realistically speaking, I betcha there’s a shit ton of drugs on martha’s vineyard. They just fly in and out all day long. What do you think are the chances there is a drug detecting dog on that island? I bet there isn’t.

  4. What would be the point of such a designation? The WMD classification allows the U.S. to respond in kind; which would be nuclear weapons. Anyone really think they’re going to nuke China and Mexico?

While not a bad idea in concept, it doesn’t really pass even cursory consideration as a plan of action.

  5. @Sippin’ Coffee — Good points/questions. Nowhere in the linked article is there any mention of just what the legal implications of a WMD designation would be. From where I sit, this looks like a simple-minded PR ploy when what we have is a terrible problem that needs more than PR to tackle.

Now, if a WMD designation would lead to sealing off the southern border with mine fields and rocket-carrying drones and, oh, how about alligator and piranha filled moats, then I’d be all for it.

  6. Joe Biden, with the assist of global and domestic organized crime, has pushed the money-making fentanyl to the streets as seen by the corrupt, grasping, and un-elected governor of NY Kickback Kathy Hochul as she’s known as. Biden has also sent crackpipes to various cities plus filled up Kentucky vending machines with illegal drug use paraphernalia to “de-stigmatize” dopers. The scheme is to weaken American citizenry for the hostile takeover by government rougues and despots.
