It seems to me like he’s trying to shove her out of the way to get the front page all to himself.
Daily Caller: Comedian Bill Maher has apologized for calling himself a “house n***er” on his HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher.” But that apology many not be enough to quell the liberal voices calling for his ouster.
In a statement, Maher said, “I regret saying it and am very sorry.”
Many liberal groups have been calling for HBO to fire Maher over the comment.
ThinkProgress, the blog associated with the liberal activist group Center for American Progress, posted a piece Saturday entitled, “Bill Maher has been a public racist for a long time. Here are the receipts,” in which they list questionable racial jokes Maher has made over his career. The piece claimed Maher is “deeply Islamophobic.”

I read some excuses for what he said:
1- It was “…ga” not “…er”, so not too offensive. Apparently he has some credential to use the “ga”, but not the “er”;
2- The senator used the trigger word “field”, BM responded accordingly;
3- We can’t say anything because Ben Sasse laughed and also confederate flags.
Bill Maher thought he could say “nigger” while a Republican was sitting there, and he thought all of the attention and outrage would be directed at the GOPer’s reaction. While Ben Sasse responded just as stupidly as Maher hoped, it took Maher calling in fire on his own position to hit his target.
Maher has gotten out of worse jams than this, but he’s been really un-PC about Islam lately, and this might be the proverbial straw.
Of all the things he has said, this is the one that offended? LOL

The only negative side to this continuing leftard show will be if I run out of popcorn. They’ve got to be creating new constitutional conservatives every day.
While this is certainly fun to watch in that Maher is a progressive liberal being attacked by members of the same species if he gets fired then the left (especially BLM who were among the first to call for his removal) gains a major victory further chilling freedoms as well as ensuring any other showbiz types that may have considered stating opinions running against the grain to remain firmly quiet and afraid.
Maher should have said to hell with the critics and stood his ground. If he survives this his either becomes neutered (sometime like the blind squirrel finding a nut he’d actually defend the west and freedoms we have against progressives) or becomes a fulltime shill with no opinions that haven’t been given to him.
Think I’ll go watch Blazing Saddles again.
