I don’t care that critics say there are better guitar players, BB King played the Blues like a King!
Better, better, better…
That’s all a bunch of crap. BB had a sound, a touch, a palette that was his and only his. You are not going to mistake BB King with Mike Bloomfield, or Albert King with SRV. Or Robin Trower with Hendrix. Clapton can’t be confused with Allman. Peter Green can’t be confused with anyone else.
Where was I going with this…
Hilary Hahn can’t be confused with Janine Jansen.
Why is this site slumming?
This place is more jazz fusion orientated. Or marching band music.
Besides, I thought we all agreed last week the 1 4 5 progression was stale.
Here, I’ll compromise with you hippies. E♭ Dorian. Stranglers tune. By Dave Brubeck. aha hee hee aho ho ho ha.

I never miss a Blues Junky’s entry. And he’s never disappointed.
BB King has an amazing vibrato technique, and a lot of feel in his playing. In the kind of thing he does, he was was one of the first there, no doubt. But he’s kinda repetitive. That said, I think Eric Clapton is the best blues player who ever lived.
Had no idea this was a competition for best Blues guitarist ever. I thought it was just Lucille sounding off. For what it’s worth, I hate people. This was an enjoyable listen.
“For what it’s worth, I hate people.”
And folks wonder what Brad and I could possibly have in common.
Thanks, MJA!
I taught BB that … back when he was Blues Boy.
Love me some BB and Clapton together. Riding With the King was a great album, but my favorite was the Louisiana Gator Boys scene from The Blues Brothers 2000. The only reason I bought the soundtrack.
