Border Wall on Private Land in New Mexico Reportedly Set to be Completed Despite Cease-and-Desist Order

Epoch Times:

A mayor in New Mexico issued a cease-and-desist order to a company building a border wall on private land between the United States and Mexico but the nonprofit behind the wall said the section was set to be completed on May 30.

Brian Kolfage, an Air Force veteran, raised more than $22 million to build portions of the border wall on private land. Construction work started on May 17 south of Sunland Park, New Mexico in the El Paso, Texas, metropolitan area.

Javier Perea, the mayor of the City of Sunland Park, told CBS 4 on May 28, that the wall was in violation of city ordinance. He said an application filed by the owner of the property was incomplete, prompting the cease-and-desist order, and that walls can only be up to six feet tall.

According to documents filed by the American Eagle Brick Company, the owner of the land, and obtained by KVIA, the half-mile of wall was said to cost $5.8 million. Sunland Park officials declined to say which part of the application was missing.

After the cease-and-desist order was issued on Tuesday, more than 2,500 phone calls came into the city from supporters of the wall.

The nonprofit behind the wall said the city did say it could build it.  more here

  1. You political assholes had plenty of time to abide by the wishes of the taxpayers but you chose not to listen. Now step aside before you get knocked on your ass.

  2. What part of we DGAS what this little mayor has to say about what we build on our own property does this pipsqueak not understand?

I love this story. Times it by eleventy border property owners. You are patriots!!!. Trump needs less from congress if he just needs to fill in the gaps.

  3. You’re going to need a federal judge to prop up your cyst-and-disease order, mayor. Better call Soros quick. Once that wall is up, you and an army of demons won’t be able to knock it down.

  4. Javier the mayor was in full bloom CYA mode on the local news at five. Past experience has taught me that the area of Sunland Park where the wall is, isn’t too friendly to gringos. Lots of tatted up critters in the area looking for trouble. And that was a few years ago before the days of the neighborhood cartels.

There was a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternon but we didn’t hear about it until it started. Great place to be seen in your red MAGA hat for the cameras.

  5. Use the left’s tactics; finish the wall while you find a constitution-friendly judge, and get a stay on the mayor’s order, then keep this tied up in the courts for the next 15 years.

  6. Privately funding the wall is the only way around democrats in Congress, and Presdident’s order of Defense or National Security, if he ever follows through with it.
