Newser- Vinny Desautels, a 7-year-old 2nd-grader in northern California, spent two years of his life growing out his hair to donate it to a child with cancer—even though some kids teased him for looking like a girl. “I want to help people so they don’t have to go to the doctors to fight cancer,” he tells KTLA. Now the boy finds himself in the very shoes he wished no kid would have to fill as he faces his own battle with aggressive stage 4 cancer, reports Fox40. Recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer (meaning simply that it has spread) after his parents grew concerned about a droopy eyelid and large lump on his hip, Vinny’s docs have yet to identify the exact type.

The fickle finger of fate….?
It certainly gives pause to the idea that there is a God, or, at the least, a God who notices…. Sad. Very sad. …..Lady in Red
I wish it was impossible for children to get that.
Dear Lord in Heaven, please bestow your Blessings on this young man and his family. The world needs more folks, just like him.
My wife and I cared for two of our grandchildren who had an incurable terminal disease. Our time with them (18 & 12 months) were the greatest blessings we have ever experienced. We didn’t need funding, but the outpouring of our Faith, Friends and Family was decisive in giving us the strength, resolve and ability to provide 24/7 care during those wonderful months for two lovely grandchildren.
We are praying for Vinny, his parents, family and friends.

We never experienced a pause, a question or a doubt that God was with them, us and our household. To my knowledge, we never thought this, let alone stated it verbally. Even after nine years of their passing. We truly were blessed with the responsibility to ensure they were loved every waking moment. We still love them and miss them dearly. We look forward to the day we will be reunited.
The Holy Spirit started with him young. And with the God and Jesus now in his heart I am sure that he will brave through whatever God has in store for him. He has done more in his few years than any hipster atheist has done.
Cato… That is wonderful and I am glad that your faith and trust sustains you. My God is more like the wind… …and, for now, I am just very sad for a little boy who never deserved this…. …of all the little boys in the world.

Lady in Red,
It breaks my heart to see this in writing, “My God is more like the wind.”
No he is not. He has a plan involving this young boy. And it is good.
Where I am, the wind is roaring, howling hard, now. …a cold front.
I will stop, Meerkat. …Lady in Red
Lady in Red,
Just know that Jesus Christ is not vindictive. And He sits on the right hand of God as your Savior.
I understand the winds are roaring. They were once roaring for me to the point of destruction. But I learned that our God is loving. And Jesus Christ is crying out to you right now if you will listen.
Cold=satan. Let’s get back into a warm spot.

My wife faced breast cancer in 2010 and subsequently beat it since she’s still with me (thank goodness!). Blessed with a full head of hair at 42, I figured all I had to do was stay alive and wait, so I’ve been growing mine. I’m 45 now. It’s been fun to parlay the folks that are convinced I’m in a midlife crisis.
Anyway, I’ve eaten enough of the stuff to grow appreciation for what women go thru and I’m now at sufficient length to sever. Any creative ideas before I commit?
mrimmortalfish,
Wake up! YOU ARE IN A MID-LIFE CRISIS!
This child endured teasing from classmates who said his long hair made him look like a girl.
Finally, a guy looking like a girl that I can admire!
Good luck and good health to this special young man–who I think will kick cancer’s butt because he’s so brave.
