Bump stocks banned in Massachusetts

WRKO AM680: Massachusetts has become the first state in the nation to ban bump stocks in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting. The bill was signed by Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, she is acting Governor while Charlie Baker is on vacation in California. The Governor had previously indicated his support of the ban.

The ban was included in a budget bill approved by lawmakers and prevents owning, selling and buying bump stocks in Massachusetts.

The Las Vegas shooter, Stephen Paddock, used a bump stock when he opened fire on a country music festival Oct. 1 killing 58 and wounding hundreds. The bump stocks allow semi-automatic weapons to act as automatic weapons increasing the rate of fire.

  1. And here’s the math with a bump stock at 700 yards. One degree is 200 inches. LET THAT SINK IN. There’s no way that old man in that room established a cone of fire down on the concert goers. Just sayen. Maths math. Hard to argue with.

  2. typical knee jerk reaction by a state that bans damn near everything. The bumpstocks are notoriously inaccurate at anything but extremely close range. Hits at 700 yard shots would be a miracle. Glad I live in Texas.
