Last week, Duke volleyball player Rachel Richardson claimed she was called a racial slur during a game with Brigham Young University (BYU), on August 26. A new comprehensive report from BYU says there is zero evidence that a racial slur was uttered.
Outkick reported on the story’s update and site founder Clay Travis said, “After an exhaustive investigation, BYU announces they have found zero evidence of any racial slur & they apologized to the fan who was kicked out, saying he did nothing wrong. This was Jussie Smollett on a volleyball court. Duke should be ashamed.” more

I think she conjured a micro-aggression. Her team was losing big-time in front of a large, loud audience that taunted her and her teammates, as exuberant fans are wont to do, so perhaps they needed to be punished. If you aren’t good enough to win, you whine. Maybe she thought her accusations of racism would cause the crowd to be silenced, to give her team an edge? Maybe her coach told her to do it?
Most female collegiate athletes are not accustomed to large boisterous crowds. Duke Women’s Volleyball had 392 fans at their most recent home game against Mich St. She must have been terrified at BYU with a record 5,507 screaming fans in attendance. Especially intimidating would have been the not exclusively white contingent from the BYU men’s basketball team on the front row (Hmmm, if the n-word was shouted, you think maybe they would have reacted?).
She or one of her teammates will let slip a confession, eventually. The damage has been done. ESPN and the others are heavily invested now in perpetuating the fraud. Just like Trump’s “fine people”.
That said, BYU’s initial reaction to the whole thing was abysmal. You cannot do anything right with race-baiters. Cowering appeasement is just blood in the water. It is understandable, given the world we find ourselves in, but I expected more from the place I was suspended from … twice (like a moth to a flame).

I agree with you ACParker. I’m also a BYU alum (non-suspended variety). I was very disappointed that the school immediately instituted a ‘lifetime ban’ (later rescinded) on the fan that Rachel Richardson accused of calling her names. It reminded me of how Nick Sandman’s Catholic Dioceses immediately condemned him for taunting the ‘native American elder’, which we later found out he did not do. Innocent until proven guilty? Not so much.
The same second I heard this story I knew it was FAKE as FAKE can be.
I confirmed my knowledge by reading the twitter feed this came on. The mom’s twitter handle was, “[so and so] for JUDGE of [so and so].” Publicity stunt? Check
Then there were THOUSANDS of moron twitter users with flags and emojis in their handles who were more irate than the mom was. Unfounded outrage from the mob who were ITCHING to find any racist attack? Check
Where was ONE person in the crowd, besides the poor kid that was probably forced to go along with her mom, to corroborate the story? NONE. Check
The mom’s story itself said the COPS were involved, but they did NOTHING other than stand by the bench? Check
5000 people at the game, no video, no one stopped the supposed racist screaming? Check

Here’s the question. If it had been true, and a BYU fan had been guilty and proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, what would the punishment have been? Banned from games, obviously, but it would have gone much further. Kicked out of school? Banned for life? Prosecuted for a hate crime?
The only way to stop the fake hate crimes is to charge the faker with the same thing, and give them the same sentence that the perp would have gotten.
The leftist from Duke should be expelled from school, banned for life from any sport, and be charged with a hate crime and sentenced accordingly.
Of course in the real world, she’ll get a gig with ESPN.
When this was first announced, I went on YT to see if anyone had video on this…you know with just about every “newsworthy” incident these days there is someone who manages to get video of an occurrence. Sure enough, I couldn’t find anything. I knew it sounded fishy from the get go.

Reminds me of the March 2019 Jazz vs OK Thunder (Wet Fart?) Russell Westbrook “racial” incident. Westbrook sez a Jazz fan was saying mean nasty racist thangs to him during a game, so he (Westbrook) bitched & moaned & got the fan a lifetime ban from Vivent Arena.
The Jazz fan fought back and (IIRC) got the ban lifted because it basically came down to a “he said, she said” with no proof or evidence on Westbrook’s part (and of course, I can’t find THAT story anywhere).
Yeah, I don’t recall ANY “racist” incidents in the last 10-15-20 years that were real and/or caused by whitey. (to include, but not limited to; ropes, nooses, swastikas, KKK, “blacks only” signs, etc)
