KFI: The opening date for the California Bullet Train has been delayed four years to 2033 as costs rise more than 20% to $77 billion. The price increase is only an estimate and could climb even higher according to the new chief executive Brian Kelly.

California is trying to spend their way out of poverty.
A thousand lawyers will be set for life before the first mile of track is laid.
I wonder how many CA politicians, and family, friends, etc. own property along the proposed right-of-way?
Isn’t there a spouse of a big wheel Commifornia politician making a killing on these real estate transactions involved in this project?
Jerry Brown’s dream train to nowhere is California’s nightmare. Recall the SOB!
Can they fit into tunnels?

I can’t wait until 2029 (well, unless there are further delays) when I can take it from San Jose to… Wasco???
It’s near Bakersfield, 100 miles from L.A. Apparently there is a prison.
Boondoggle…
These masterminds are so progressive, as in progress, ushering in 19th century technology for the 21st century.
I happened to look at Amtrak website yesterday for a friend who needs to get from Washington DC to Erie, PA to look at a new puppy.
She could make 2 round trips by auto in the time it would take her to just do the trip up there.
Complete in 2033 for $77 billion? That’s a pipe dream; it’s been 10 years and the first section, across what may be the easiest portion of the state, is still in construction. The state commission must still deal with various engineering challenges like crossing some mountain ranges and the numerous lawsuits by environmentalist groups, landowners and cities. California voters may also want to consider the condition of the state’s finances both now and as reasonably anticipated in the future.
Ain’t happening in 2033. Best shoot for 2044 and hope the state has recovered from its bankruptcy by then.
The Empire State Building and the Pentagon was built in a year. How long did it take to build the transcontinental railroad with picks and shovels?
Don’t get me started.
Prediction: If the train route ever gets completed it will cost over $200 billion and immediately start losing money and asking for more subsidizes.
I heard the Bullet Train will run through the Big Dig in Boston.
And the minute someone gets smashed up at a crossing, the train will be forced to slow down.
The little train, that SHOULDN’T. 😳
