CA Gov. Brown Vetoed 2016 Wildfire Management Bill While CA Burned

CFP: Every governor has signed regretful legislation, or made a disastrous pardon he or she would like a chance to re-do. California’s whacky outgoing Democrat governor has spent the last eight years trying to convince the people of California that we are to blame for droughts, wildfires and “extreme weather,” and that climate change is an existential threat to the California way of life. Showing no regrets, Gov. Jerry Brown calls the people “freeloaders,” and “deniers,” and has mocked our “little green lawns.” Brown even spitefully signed legislation subjecting every man, woman and child to 50 gallons of water a day in the near future… despite the state’s 189,454 miles of rivers, and that large body of water California sits on.

Last year, as California residents were burned out of their towns, homes, neighborhoods, schols, hospitals and businesses, Gov. Jerry Brown was jetting around the world spouting climate change propaganda, and calling the fires California’s “new normal.” Gov. Brown had many chances to sincerely and realistically address California’s increasing wildfires since his election in 2011, but instead chose to play politics, placing his new friends at the United Nations over the people of California.

California’s whacky outgoing Democrat governor has spent the last eight years trying to convince the people of California that we are to blame for droughts, wildfires and “extreme weather,”

What many do not know, is that California Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed a bipartisan wildfire management bill in 2016, despite unanimous passage by the Legislature, 75-0 in the Assembly and 39-0 in the Senate. SB 1463 would have given local governments more say in fire-prevention efforts through the Public Utilities Commission proceeding making maps of fire hazard areas around utility lines. In a gross display of politics, this is especially pertinent given that Cal Fire and the state’s media are now blaming the largest utility in the state for the latest wildfires.

While hindsight is always 20-20, California was on fire when this bill made its way through the Legislature and on to Jerry Brown’s desk.  READ MORE

  1. Cutting quickly to the chase, everything Jerry Brown does, every tax, every project, is engineered to help fund Calpers.(California Public Employees’ Retirement System).
When Brown announce Califonias budget surplus he’s lying through his teeth. They are not throwing that unfunded liability into that accounting. Which is $168 BILLION.
That’s why every new Tax these idiots dream up goes into the General Fund.
Essentially this state is broke as a joke. And every NATURAL DISASTER we have is an opportunity to collect money from the Feds.

  2. “PG&E has deep pockets so what does he care.”

Nope, he signed a Bill that allows PG&E to raise their rates to pay for any judgments against them. This is a Publicly Traded Company. Is that even legal? Once again the tax payers take it on the chin.

  3. Fox News had some high-ranking California fire official on this morning and instead of answering a question he veered off to blame the current fires on “climate change”. Like a well-trained parrot…

  4. You just know that there’s some unspoken deal between dem governor’s like Brown and Cuomo to get federal relief when the democrats get back in power. There’s no way they can dig out otherwise.

  5. Climate change is the vague bogeyman that Jerry Brown trots out when there are disasters exacerbated by him and his Democrat party. “It wasn’t my idiotic environmental policies; it was climate change. Bad, bad climate change.”

But, according to many things I have read, the United States is actually decreasing its carbon footprint which the socialists claim is the cause of this climate change. But China and India are both increasing their carbon usage, so Brown is actually blaming sovereign foreign nations for his environmental neglect and willful damage. And if we ease our restrictions on the use of nuclear and hydroelectric power generation, the US would decrease its carbon usage even further. But sensible actions don’t harm our economy so much, which is the aim of these people.

Socialists are never wrong because they care so damn much. What’s a few billion dollars in fire fighting costs and damages when you really, really care? Socialists also have a well-documented history of putting up with the deaths of many people, sometimes millions of deaths, in order to promote their agenda or hide the fact that they are wrong. But they care (just not enough to stop killing people).

At some point, and that point is now, politicians like Brown are not ignorant – they are evil. Their social agenda and personal standing outweighs both logical conclusions and rational action.

  6. California’s forests are doomed. Let them burn, get it over with. The state is bankrupt and will never be able to pay for decades of mismanagement. California’s impending Public Employee’s pension disaster is going to cost many times what cleaning up the forests will cost. http://www.pensiontsunami.com/ Uncle Sugar is bankrupt as well, to the tune of 23 trillion, so Californians shouldn’t hope for a bailout. California will never have enough money to pay for the pension debacle, clean up the forests, and pay for Brown’s train. Faced with fiscal reality California leftists will take care of pensions first, train will be cancelled. I’m betting the forests are going to be allowed burn to the ground and will be declared collateral damage. And why not? The left will get away with blaming Bush, Trump, and global warming.

  7. “Paradise Lost by a Campfire” is an evil taunting that reveals the horrific sabotage this has been. Gov. Brown is guilty as an accomplice to every Communistic destruction waged as warfare on California. Paradise was a Conservative, Republican hub. Democrats/Liberals/Communists have no moral or ethical restraints in coups or governance. (Even Oregon and Washington governors are in league with the California political Communist Brown). Conservatives generally have moral restraints and do not resort to sadistic, deadly actions to seize political control. The apparent motto of Liberals is ” Destroy a country to gain control of a country.” State by state. City by city. To protest political criminality, is to become an enemy of TPTB, as Antifa aggression is rapidly being sanctioned.

  9. Since ’58 8 members of the Brown Clan have run for Gov. the GOP ran 6 leftist/liberals against them; all lost -some in landslides! The GOP ran 2 conservatives against the Brown Clan. BOTH WON LANDLSLIDES! Naming names: Pete Wilson, Ron Reagan!

If the GOP honestly wants to win in Cal _ I think they lie when they say the do! – they would stop running libs ; naming a recent progressive GOP name “Cash + Carry”!

The Brown Clan has been bad for Cal; but some of the far left GOPe would have been worse! Most Conservatives in Cal think so.

again – MANY GOP FOLK ARE PROGRESSIVE “NANNY STATERS” – NOT CONSERVATIVE! despite their immoral lies to the contrary!

  10. Bad_Brad, I know Paradise too. Two siblings, their spouses, my niece and great niece and literally dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins and their families, ALL made it out alive. I thank God for that and pray for those who did not get out and their loved ones. I only lived there for 2 or 3 years, then I met Jim at my grandmothers place in July 1977 and we left in January 1978. So many memories. It’s been a rough 3 weeks.

Chin up Rotty, We are proud of you. I spent a lot of time in Paradise from 74 to 80. We’ve probably walked right past each other. I was that guy that did the double take. LOL.
