Cable car disaster on Italian mountain

Citizen Free Press:

ROME — A cable car taking visitors to a mountaintop view of some of northern Italy’s most picturesque lakes plunged to the ground Sunday, killing at least 14 people and sending two children to the hospital.

Rescue crews were continuing to search the area given possible indications that a 15th person might have been in the cable car, said Walter Milan, spokesman for Italy’s Alpine rescue service. The scene of the wreckage showed the crushed and crumpled remains of the cable car in a clearing of a thick patch of pine trees near the summit of the Mottarone peak overlooking Lake Maggiore. more

  1. Strange how Karma works, most times innocent get caught up in the misery. I remember Italy was involved in the coup and election fraud against our country.
    Oh well.

  2. That’s what you get in a country where Coffee & Biscotti take priority above getting off you fucking lazy asses and doing your jobs.
Then there is the 5 course lunch followed by the 1 hour nap.

Most of my cousins there are retired, their kids are barely employed. Some have visited North America. They see the pace of life, turn around, & head back home never to return.

  3. Back in our youth Fur and I spent way too much time stuck suspended high up on the ski lift while some poor sap misjudged the chair lift at the bottom and fell off, shutting the whole system down. When that happened there was plenty of time to really look at those flimsy cables and realize that skiing down a hill beyond your abilities was even much safer than the trip up the hill on the lift.
