Report: Corona, California Police Department refuses to fight crime

That sounds like bad advertising. For Corona California.

KFI640: Listener Christopher Melendez is in a crisis with the Corona Police Department. He sent us this email below:

“There is a big problem right now with the police not doing anything about crime.

I had my work truck stolen from job in Riverside. The police told me that they can’t do anything about it even if they caught the suspect because they will just let them go with a ticket. There was a guy that saw him and could identify him but the police didn’t want to take his info because they said it didn’t matter because they won’t do anything about it. read more

  1. It’s a shame that your name is out there now, Christopher. You have two realistic options. One: do nothing more than you’ve already done. Publicize name and photo of perp.

The other option, one I cannot recommend for obvious reasons, is to kill the guy. You’d need to leave no evidence of any kind, no witnesses real or security cam, and have an absolutely 100% rock solid alibi putting you 100 miles away when the guy is offed. Don’t tell a soul, EVER, what you’ve done. Don’t talk to any cops except to say you want to talk to your lawyer before answering any questions. Not another word.

  2. The concept of vigilantism only has legitimacy when the State holds up it’s end of the bargain. When the State does not hold up it’s end of the deal they have forfeit their legitimacy on monopoly in dispensation of justice. They have told this guy he is on his own. They have given the go ahead to handle it as he see’s fit.

  3. Even if they charged him he would not be prosecuted, cuz the DA don’t mess with that small of a crime.
Ask me how I know, this was before the Chirona.

  4. If the Cops and the Prosecutors don’t do anything about crime, who will? Political correctness be damned! I thought that we were a nation of laws with equal justice for all and not a nation of cowards and chickenshits who won’t stand up for our rights and freedoms or allow the govt. to dictate who is more worthy of protection. lf this keeps up we may see an ugly vigilantiism come to pass to deal with criminals and I don’t want to see that happen.

  5. This is do to several Propositions that the electorate voted in. All LEO are in the same boat. Opponents of the propositions complained that the Bills were written in a deceiving manner. I didn’t think so, seemed pretty clear. What was deceiving were the advertisements for the Propositions. If your to stupid to read what you are voting for not much can be done.

  6. There is a precedent for what will end up happening, and it is what happened in Skidmore, MO, a town known for a legendary unsolved murder:
The case of Ken McElroy. https://the-line-up.com/ken-mcelroy-vigilante-murder
When people realize that the police are either too afraid, too indifferent, too corrupt….they will just stop calling for help. The police ought to get the silent treatment. No one call, no one seek them out for help for any reason….the crime will subside, because the criminals will not be arrested, they might just disappear. They might just die without any witnesses at all, even the twelve or so people who saw what happened, who all had rock solid alibis for where they was at the time of the crime. The security cameras could break. Who knows what potential things will happen, when nobody calls the cops anymore?

  7. Grew up around Corona.
Nice little town back in the 60’s-70’s.
“The Circle City” gets that name from Grand Ave., which is a circular street that once contained the town and was an auto racetrack back in the early 1900’s.
