California says coffee is ‘cancerous’

American thinker: People have been enjoying and drinking coffee for thousands of years and recent health studies suggest it’s rather good for you, but now, all of a sudden, the State of California claims it has “science” to support the notion that coffee causes cancer.

That’s why some numbskull judge ruled that now all coffee must carry warning labels, same as dreaded, dangerous, cigarettes, warning everyone of cancer and attempting to get at least some people to stop. Can you say: ‘judiciary out of control?’  more here

  1. For Cripes Sake!!!! IMHO EVERY healthy cell is “PREcancerous”…

    Everything can promote it.

  2. The court legitimized the decision by claiming “The failure to prove coffee wasn’t a carcinogenic”.

They did the same thing to Roundup last year costing Monsanto a lot of money.

  3. FOR MANY DECADES AMERICAN JUDGES, INCLUDING THE SUPREME COURT – JOHN MARSHALL, 200 YEARS AGO – WERE NOT LAWYERS!
Allowing the lawyers union to “bless” future judges has worked out very well.
    THE SMALL LETTERS ARE FACETIOUS!
America has led the “civilized” world in lawyers per capita the last 150 years. there is a reason for our decline.

  4. Maybe we should all just eat bread and drink water. Oh wait–bread has gluten so strike that off the list!

California should be declared carcinogenic and hazardous to both our physical and mental health.

  5. I can’t tell you how many products I have in my TX home that have a disclaimer that California is warning there are carcinogens, and known cancers etc. as a result of use. Adding coffee is par for the course. How about air we breath?

  6. So, if something is not proven not to cause cancer (which is virtually everything), then it needs a warning label. That’s a shitload of warning labels.

“Warning: This item has not been proven not to cause cancer. Don’t touch it!… Hey!… We told you not to touch it!… Do you want to die of cancer, stooooooopid?!!!”

  7. The #WarOnCoffee is interesting considering their base is made up of millenials who enjoy their daily “latte” because they think it makes them look sophisticated.

  8. The left is sucking the joy out of life one thing at a time.
It’s always about money, they will need to study this then tax it for the children.
Someone needs to make a list of all the stuff they’ve demonized.

  9. The fallacy of the court’s reasoning lies in the logical fact that one cannot prove a negative. By requiring the coffee companies to prove coffee is NOT a cancer risk the court held them to an impossible standard.

The proper requirement is to have those asserting the cancer risk to prove their case.

But, logic from a lefty? Not possible.

The difference between liberals and conservatives?
Liberals start with conclusions and sell them as fact, whereas Conservatives start with facts and reach conclusions.

    Just sayin’.

  10. Lazlo is enjoying a plate of Jig-Jigga (Taught to me by my famous English Father in Law: Eggs, and whatever else [in this case spam and tarragon]), washed down with Black Rifle coffee (third cup so far).
In a salute to my old home state I have my Black Rifle thermal cup with the Skull and Crossed Bones so I will be aware of coffee’s dangerous properties.
You see, I also like to live dangerously

  11. The substance has not been discovered yet about which California does not say causes cancer. Except marijuana. Marijuana is the only thing whose smoke is not at all harmful.

  12. Ironically, every Starbucks store in California probably has a Prop. 65 label warning people that there are chemicals in and about the premises than may cause cancer or reproductive harm. These warnings are so ubiquitous that Californians don’t notice them anymore, and almost all commercial building owners post them “just in case.”

Warning signs have ceased to have any meaning anymore because they are literally everywhere on virtually everything. I doubt this ruling will have any effect on coffee consumption.

  13. This is what’s coming:
    EVERYTHING NOT FORBIDDEN IS COMPULSORY

We’re being nibbled to death by ducks.
And by “ducks” I mean the totalitarian termites gnawing at the foundations of this Country.

“Everything which is not forbidden is allowed” is a constitutional principle of English law— an essential freedom of the ordinary cit.
The converse principle—”everything which is not allowed is forbidden”— applies to public authorities, whose actions were limited to the powers explicitly granted to them.
    Note the difference.
