  1. My take on this is that the Alberta district judge was on his side from the getgo. He didn’t have council so the judge said she would have to “advocate” for him and it went smoothly from then on

  2. Just remember that Alberta was very aggressive against its people in the first place. Churches & small restaurants in out of town locations. That was RCMP (feds) since Alberta currently does not have a Provincial Police force. Ontario has its own force (OPP)

Alberta has also been the first to open up with very very few remaining restrictions.

I am Just going to point out that they DID NOT even remotely act like TEXAS or FLORIDA.

What Actually was: VERY HARD LOCKDOWN, followed by, ONCE VACCINATION HITS “X” Percent, Open the hell up Fast.

  3. Kcir: around here, we have Vancouver, Delta, New Westminster, and Abbotsford police departments. Everyone else has the RCMP. There is a BC Sheriff’s service but they primarily for courts. There is no provincial department.

Surrey is talking about getting its own department but there is much opposition. I do not understand this infatuation with a federal police department. We once were talking with friends. I said the RCMP was a federal department. They said, “Oh , no. They work for the local government.

    The hell they do.

It is literally Sub-contracting your policing. Jason Kenny was very interested in having a police force that could not be instructed from Ottawa.

The OPP (among others) were the ones who told Doug Ford a few moths ago that they WOULD NOT be random stopping people to see where they were going & checking papers during covid. (one small victory)
