Canada won't issue visas to residents of countries with widespread Ebola

Ebola

CTV News:

TORONTO — Canada is following in Australia’s footsteps and has suspended, effectively immediately, the issuance of visas to residents of the West African countries battling Ebola.

In a move that puts Canada at odds with the World Health Organization, the federal government said Friday it is suspending visa applications for residents and nationals of countries with “widespread and persistent-intense transmission” of Ebola virus disease.

That stress on countries with widespread transmission provides an out for the United States, which currently still has at least one active Ebola case within its borders.

  1. How come we can’t be as sensible and use common sense like the Canucks and the Aussies seem to be? Oh yeah, I forgot political correctness and multiculturalism which will kill us if left unchecked. I say we quarantine all the pinheads at the CDC and the pinhead in chief who has no problem with letting these diseased people into our country all because it’s not fair. And no way in Hell should our military be used to control ebola ever!

  2. That whole Obola thing is just overblown. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning, or audited by the IRS, than to contract Obola.

And believe you, me; the IRS is gonna make your life a lot more miserable than Obola ever thought of … At … or …Yo!

I can’t keep my kool negro ‘spressions straight.

    Fo Shizzle?

  3. A couple of things. Good for us taking a reasonable precaution against a disease with a 94% fatality rate if you’re over 45. I’m sure our Liberals led by the intellectually challenged son of Pierre Elliot Trudeau (our Obama) will call PM Harper racist for it. The NDP (our serious lefties) already have.

As for any politico or government drone saying how hard it is to contract the disease well, they now say it’s airborne, can live up to 50 some odd days on a friggen doorknob and aren’t really sure anymore on precisely how long the incubation period is so pardon us for choosing sane precautions over being politically correct. The last comment was for that Professor at Indiana State University named David Fidler having to gall to condemn Canada for it’s policy (oh, the head of the WHO who is fumbling this mess also condemned us, maybe we should start wearing these as a badge of honor). The stunning ignorance displayed by these so-called experts continues to astound. All it takes is one person who for a few days turns out to be contagious spending a few hours at an airport, having a meal, using the washroom, sneezing a few time then going into the city can create enough victims to overwhelm any health care system. This is a heavy intervention disease not a common cold.

@Stevo; not sure what your comment meant or who it was aimed at, perhaps you’d like to elaborate.
