Canadian politician questions male truck owners’ masculinity — but then gets angry when they question his

Blaze:

Mathew Bond, a North Vancouver, Canada, council member shared a photo of a large pickup truck on social media, which he captioned, “The glorification of violence and domination. #unnecessarytrucks #petromasculinity.”

Bond explained that the truck — a large white pickup with a large plate with a tongue-in-cheek joke reading “Global Warmer” — was dismissive in its treatment of global warming. more

h/t Not at all confused.

SNIP: I bet he hangs Truck Nutz from every doorway at his house.

  1. The guy is a fucking idiot

F150 SCREW I drive gets north of 21 MPG on the highway. I never thought I would see that. It also has enough power to pull our toy hauler over mountain passes w/o causing nine mile backups. Much safer than having other motorists pull out to pass.

  2. The F150 SCREW I replaced with the one I have today, that is bigger and more comfortable, was 75% less fuel efficient than my current one.

I would not have replaced it if it were not totaled by a Democrat driving w/no license or insurance. Bumper stickers made it clear what their political affiliation was.

  3. BADco, someone finances them, and they buy their way in. Money buys many into office, many who are not qualified, or have other primary agendas hidden behind their patter.

  4. North Van is a ritzy area. You know what ritzy area usually means.

I must admit,, though, that there are some PU drivers who fit that guy’s description. You can tell the difference between people who have pick ups because they need them and people who have them for what that guy describes. Those people would never do anything with their trucks that would even risk getting them dirty.

The worst PU drivers around here tend to have Ram pickups. You can usually tell they are Rams because the emblem on the grill is about ready to come through you back window as you drive down the street.

That guy does come across like a typical leftist, though. “I should be able to piss on you and you aren’t supposed to say anything back!”

  5. Their dream is to have us all drive coal or nuclear powered (electric) cars. My dream is to have a car that actually burns coal to power it’s steam engine, although I’d settle for one with a small nuclear reactor under the hood.
