Gateway Pundit: As it was expected, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called a snap election for 28 April, trying to capitalize on the recent surge of his Liberal party in the polls.

This liberal rise came in the runup of the controversy over Donald J. Trump’s comments about Canada’s exceedingly high tariffs on US products.

Trump eventually said that if Canada can’t survive without massive subsides from the US, then they should become the 51st state – and all hell broke loose in the Canadian political landscape.

  1. True, we shouldn’t underwrite their bad behavior. It’s a pretty sick country and the people that vote running to the liberal side in a trade war of their own making seems counterintuitive, but it appears you can fool all the people all the time.

    I really would not want Canada as a state or states. Is it the western tradition heritage or the influx of East Indians and Chinese that honked it uo? can’t tell. Don’t care.
