My son would watch it from time to time. Another thing I noticed about the show was that it had an international group of teens fighting to save the world. They were all intelligent and mature except for, of course, the American kid.

We only allow Tom Slick in my household.

…I kinda got the feeling the blonde girl and the African guy ran counter to the population message, and thats where we got Barry Soetoro…

The kids need some Roger RamJet and his Eagles.
Even the opening tune had Patriotism in it.

…Captain Planet covered AIDS as well, for some reason…
Captain Planet was only allowed in my house for 5min into the first time my kids were ‘encouraged’ to watch it by their pre-school ‘teacher’…

Kids should watch School house rock, and OG Scooby Doo.
Then they learn constitution/government and never trust authority figures.

I never allowed my kids to watch Capt. Planet when they were growing up. Anything associated with Ted turner was suspect to me. He’s also the one that got Speedy Gonzalez highly edited and banned because he was politically incorrect. And besides he was married to Hanoi Jane so that’s another strike against him. As well as creating CNN the commie news network.

I showed my eight yo grandson some old Warner Bros cartoons and he lover them.
Nothing better than Bugs Bunny and The Road Runner… Meb Beep!
Entertainment, not indoctrination!

I wouldn’t allow my kids to watch

Strap them to a chair and force them to watch Foghorn Leghorn.

Captain Planet was ambiguously gay.

Jason, “I say, I say that’s a good idea boy and I guarantee that I’ll make em laugh or my name isn’t Foghorn leghorn.” “Go away Ted Turner, you bother me.”
3
“And take that commie ex-wife of yours Hanoi Jane with you.” “You both bug the hell out of me.”

Oh and Speed Racer. Back in 1974 when I barely graduated from High School one of my pals was already getting paid to film commercials. A talented guy. So for graduation he did a short film entitled, “Hurrying Home To Watch The Last Five Minutes Of Speed Racer”. He arranged for the CHP blocking off the street with the entrance into the student parking lot so the hot rod guys could do burn outs down the street. I did a third gear burn out way past the high school. It was epic. He did commercials for major peep through the mid 80’s. I lost track of him after that. It sucks getting old.

The real lesson in Scooby Doo is the villain is always human. It was my generations version of Ghostbusters, and I have taught my grandmonkeys that very true lesson.
…another quick Captain Planet video with an Atlanta origin story…
