FOX: Looks like the little guy can teach a global fast food conglomerate a thing or two about running a restaurant.
Eatsa, the mostly automated healthy, fast food bowl shop based in San Francisco, has inspired the CEO of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s to rethink the traditional workforce—by replacing all humans with robots.
“I want to try it,” CEO Andy Puzder told Business Insider. “We could have a restaurant that’s focused on all-natural products and is much like an Eatsa, where you order on a kiosk, you pay with a credit or debit card, your order pops up, and you never see a person.”
The move could help the fast food giant cope with rising minimum wages across the country.
“With government driving up the cost of labor, it’s driving down the number of jobs,” he says, more
Does this additional Carl’s Jr. post qualify as perpetual?
And oh-by-the-way, Karl’s Junior’s corporate offices are relocating from California to Nashville.
Well, it’s apparently a buy one get one free.
I had this post scheduled before BFH cut in line ahead of me.
AND he had a coupon!!! 😉
Sorry MJA, you know how rare it is that I am such a smart-ass… 🙂
I’m cool with this. A little food grade lubricant is far better than an anchor baby hair. I might even enjoy fast food once again if I can pay 10.02 on a 6.22 meal and actually receive 3.80 back in change.
Good!
All of the Carl’s Jr near me only hire illegals that can barely speak English.
Screw ’em all!
Dang! NOW who’s gonna spit in my burger when I complain?
I’ll still wonder what’s going on in the back of the kitchen. Last I heard all of the new “automation” outfits will had a humanoid making the stuff.
I don’t blame companies wanting to use robots for fast food. Cheaper than $15 an hour, no medical insurance, vaycay pay, affirmative action hiring, pregnancy leaves, stop me if I’m wrong here, no employees taking selfies licking stacks of burgers, no illegal alien poopie hands, no confusion at the register how to give 41 cents back in change, no head choppings over bacon.

Probably have an oil leak in my rice crispies.
Chipotle should be next.
And the irony is, the robots will work for $7 an hour….although there is talk of a strike.
Some of the fast food joints are already having self order kiosks that include both order and payment, customer accessed drink areas are now pretty well standard and a burger machine is already in the making

While not ready for prime time the concept has been proven and now the engineers are getting the second or third generation ready for a trial.
A McD’s or BK etc used to need about 25 people on the floor during a rush could conceivably get by with 7 or 8. In slow times maybe just one. Technological change is truly a double edged sword.
what happens when you combine robot workers with artificial intelligence?
I don’t know either but it’s going to be entertaining to watch them go on strike!
will you self driving car cross the picket line at the drive through?
Who’s gonna piss in the soup?
Who’s gonna dip the rat in the grease?
Everybody’s gonna say:
“Damn! Don’t know what it is, but it’s different, y’know?”
That Philly Cheesesteak Burger looks like a good idea. Think I’d be inclined to make my own, though. We don’t have Carl’s Jr. or Hardee’s down here and Burger King sells hot dogs now.
Boobie! Carl’s has a spicy chicken sandwich for $1.00 that is out of this world. Just sayin’!
