Case Against Kyle Rittenhouse Collapses As Key Attacker Admits Rittenhouse Did Not Shoot Until Witness Pointed a Gun At Him

CTH: Gaige Grosskreutz was one of the attackers of Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha Wisconsin last year.  After giving testimony earlier today attempting to paint himself as a victim of Rittenhouse, the witness/attacker admitted today in during cross examination he was shot only after he threatened Rittenhouse by pointing a gun at him inches away from his head.

While the prosecution hoped Grosskreutz’s sketchy testimony would assist their case, the actual testimony supports the defense claim of Rittenhouse acting in self defense after being attacked by a mob.  The crushing admission is below (prompted to 08:10) WATCH:

  1. The case against Kyle is far from collapsing. The case will hinge on whether the jury thinks Kyle killed Rosenbaum without provocation. The last 2 are easy, the whole world can see that Kyle was just defending himself. But the Rosenbaum shooting is a bit more murky.

All true, my only point being that with Rosenbaum, the case for or against will all be based on circumstantial evidence. The defense can build a strong case that Kyle was just defending himself since Rosenbaum threatened him with harm and was clearly the attacker while Kyle was retreating. But what went on behind that car out of sight of everyone else, only Kyle knows for sure. It would have been better if someone was there and could corroborate Kyle’s description of events.

Of course I believe Kyle’s version, but jury’s can be swayed, manipulated, led down factless primrose paths and don’t always see what we see.

  4. If Kyle gets acquitted of criminal charges, they’ll crucify his ass in Civil Court.

Had my druthers, onec acquitted in Criminal proceedings with jeopardy attached, no Civil charges could be filed.

Our legal system don’t work like that.

“but jury’s can be swayed, manipulated, led down factless primrose paths and don’t always see what we see.”
The jury could be stacked, just like the current court system. They could be just fake, like congress & POSbiden.

  6. I have high hopes but low expectations–

Simply because facts vs. the fucking, liberal commie asswipes that need to be completely eradicated from society, the very same liberal fucking commie asswipes that hate America and are better prepared to lie, cheat, steal, create hate and discontent, confusion, distraction and general chaos than Satan himself.

  7. I watched nearly all of days 3 and 4 of the witness testimony, direct/cross/re-cross, and the long, tedious, finer points of a applicable case law. It’s a rather fascinating trial at points. Often it has taken the tone of “just another day at the office”. The judge seems solid, but because this is of national interest he does play to the cameras with his humor.

Andrew Branca at LegalInsurrection.com has done a fine job of narrating and summarizing each day’s proceedings. It’s all over there along with the videos.

The State has made just about every important error in presenting their case. All they’ve got is trying to turn Kyle’s attackers into choir boys. It’s been an exercise in futility. Each one of them has either been on psych meds, has rap sheets for violent acts, or both. And it seems the State has turned all their witnesses into hostile ones. Anything is possible, I guess (because we’ve all seen it happen), but I honestly don’t think this judge is going to let the jury bring back anything but “not guilty”.

As Branca wrote: The State has to prove Rittenhouse was not acting in self-defense because he perceived his life to be in danger. No one else gets to decide his perception, but even if they did there’s more than enough evidence to prove his perceptions were accurate.

@Rich Taylor: There was someone besides Rittenhouse who saw and heard Rosenbaum after Rosenbaum chased him into that last area. It was the State’s “star” witness, that guy from Daily Caller (who thought he got it all on video). In the end he proved Kyle was chased, cornered and shot Rosenbaum in self defense.

  8. I only hope I would be as cool and shoot as straight as Kyle did while coming under fire like that.
Dude only shot and killed assholes that were attacking him.
    No innocent bystanders were shot.

Hell I’ve seen cops unload full magazines and miss entirely.
No way Jacob Blake should be alive…AHEM!

  9. I will say this: Although Rittenhouse did nothing illegal, he was dangerously naive’ about going to Kenosha. He’s a young guy out to “do good” and be a patriot, but he had no idea how much he made himself a HUGE target by running up and down the area yelling “medic!!” while carrying an AR-type rifle. Those guys who chased him are/were certifiably crazy and out for blood and a trophy. He’s REALLY lucky he wasn’t killed. If he had been, there would have been no justice for his murder. Those older guys who were with him should have took him in hand and told him to calm down. I see that as a failing on their part, especially that guy named Balch.

  10. It seems a lot of these high profile cases come down to momentum. And right now Kyle’s team is killing them.

I blame Kyle’s mother. She raised a decent young man, but WTF?

  11. BB — Does he have a father?

I agree, but since his mother wasn’t there, I just thought the older guys around him might have been doing him a favor.

Did you see the video of Rittenhouse running around yelling “medic!” and then running around with a fire extinguisher? Talk about face palm. It was such an explosive situation there to begin with and then you’ve got this very energetic kid adding to the fray. He didn’t read the crowd at all.

  12. There’s a difference between prosecution and persecution.
The DA’s office should be brought up on charges of misconduct, misallocation (for whatever it cost to pursue this travesty), and willfully wrongful prosecution (that is, targeting a citizen). And they should be held personally liable until executed – and then their estates should be drained.
These are the tactics of a police state, not a Republic.
