CHAIRMAN OF THE JOINT CHIEFS: SGT. BERGDAHL TO BE INVESTIGATED

The most powerful officer in the U.S. military, General Martin E. Dempsey, Chair of the Joint Chiefs, has not ruled out the possibility of a court-martial of Sgt. Bergdahl for desertion.

Using the platform of his Facebook page, General Dempsey made the following statement: “As for the circumstances of his capture, when he is able to provide them, we’ll learn the facts,” he wrote. “Our Army’s leaders will not look away from misconduct if it occurred.”

This statement contradicts the standing White House narrative from both the president, Dempsey’s boss, and Susan Rice that Sgt. Bergdahl’s release is to be celebrated and understood of being proof that we never leave our troops behind.

The release comes just as the Select Committee on the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi begins its work, the Congressional investigation into an incidence that clearly disproves the administration’s assertion that America does not leave its people behind.

  1. “… will not look away from misconduct if it occurred.”

My understanding was that he took off his uniform, renounced his citizenship (left a note), and deserted his post. If that is true, then there is no doubt that ‘misconduct [has] occurred’ and Dempsey is being disingenuous to make himself (or the Army) sound tough without really doing anything.

Surely the Military Police or DIA looked into this five years ago?

  2. I don’t see NBC even covering this tonight.

Their top stories? The Big 3 auto sales are through the roof and the norovirus happens to people on cruises. How corporations are getting employees to put down their smartphones.

No question why their merger won’t be contested.

I am troubled by the evolving narrative. ABC said gubmint officials rushed to strike a deal for Bergdahzi because they saw a video no one else saw. Bowe appeared sad and disengaged. *sniff*

Also, notice how not one member of his batallion have stepped forward to defend him? Some have criticized should be changed to ALL have criticized.

One more thing. He is not sick. They are trying to get their lie straight.

The new party line is that he was naive and idealistic. Abandoning his post because he thought he could end the war by rolling out a midnight basketball program for at risk Taliban youths.

  3. Right general. You try and prosecute this guy and you will end up bunking with a butt pirate and end your career. In WW2 this jerk bergdahl would have been shoot by a firing squad. I suspect that the newer and gay military will give this jerk a pass.

  4. This disgusting little political toadie will do exactly what he is told to do- in this case no court-martial or serious punishment of any kind for the deserter/traitor. My bet is the Army is told to slow roll their investigation, then quietly discharge the deserter/traitor in the fall. This ain’t gonna work as those who served with this shitheel and the families of those killed looking for him aren’t going to let this go. If the shitheel is administratively discharged veterans are going to go absolutely apeshit.
