CTH: President Trump is no longer planning to utilize the services or representation of the legal husband and wife team of Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing, within the ongoing Mueller probe, due to conflicts.
The President is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the President’s Special Counsel legal team,” his lawyer, Jay Sekulow, said in a statement. “However, those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the President in other legal matters. The President looks forward to working with them.”
[…] DiGenova and Toensing released a statement on the announcement Sunday, saying: “We thank the President for his confidence in us and we look forward to working with him on other matters.” (link)
Just guessing, but it doesn’t seem surprising there would be a conflict considering Toensing is representing an FBI whistle-blower in the Clinton Uranium-One scandal. more here
This is disappointing to me, DiGenova seems to have spirit, and is on the same page most of us are on.
Damn it!
And to all a good night. Time to go home.
He was a great addition to the team, too bad for us.
Things could really gain momentum if we had someone more forceful in the DOJ. It appears that most of these scum are going to skip away unscathed. Rosenstein is just running rings around Sessions and he should be one of those indited. I’m just getting more disgusted with the lack of action.
COI never seems to be an issue for the left/democrats………!
I think the announcement and the retraction were part of a head-fake. Trump forced the media to report on DiGenova and Toensing, something the MSM has studiously avoided for months.
“…those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the President in other legal matters…”
Better keep an eye on those two, MSM.
good now his point of view will carry more weight, not that the msm will cover it.
Unfortunately, I was expecting this, having seen Joe DiG and wife V.T. on “Hannity” many times with the whole Uranium 1 business. This is like nullifying a team’s signing the league’s top scorer and MVP of any sport. DAMN!
If they prosecute on the Uranium One case, DiGenova may well be on the witness list, since he was in on exposing it. They can’t risk having the appearance of conflict if that happens. After all, we aren’t Democrats.
