I keep telling people to watch the old movie “Bob Roberts”.

Every Lefty in Hollywood was in it and it is the biggest piece of projection put on the big screen.
Apropo of SNL and the Kanye incident, they had the exact scene play out in that movie 30 years ago where someone was going espouse “rightwing” view on their left-leaning, late night comedy show and they cut the power to the theater.
At the time, their leftwing conspiracy theory was that Reagan faked his own assassination.
That movie informed me who the next generation of commies were that has served me to this day. Including a very young Jack Black as a cult worshipping pseudo-nazi.
SNL was never that funny. It had its moments but was never great.
SCTV was funnier.
Stopped watching SNL in the mid 90s. It was barely funny, then.
I remember it was before Phil Hartman was murdered by his loony crackhead wife.
I don’t watch it any more, even clips, it’s now a political soap box stage for the left. It might be okay for the narrow minded left, but the none stop, one sided politics is extremely tiring for the rest of us. I’d be more inclined to watch old reruns when they had actual funny stuff.
This is by far, the best SNL skit ever. Unfortunately, it was so over the top funny, NBC aired it once and actively takes it down today. So it’s definitely not on YouTube, but I found it here.

I used to watch a funnier skit show called “Fridays” Kramer got his start on it. It was WAY funnier than SNL. They’re a joke.
I watched the first 2-3 seasons of SNL on Netflix a while back. I was born in ‘68, and I remember the hype about it—my sister thought Chevy was cute—but what really struck me was how painfully unfunny the show actually was. It had a moment here and there, but seriously, I couldn’t figure out how it stayed on the air.
If you have to explain what is funny, it’s not funny
“in Living Color” and “SCTV” and “Firesign Theater” used to be outstanding.
Political Comedy is Fake Comedy.
I liked some of the female commediannes
on HBO in the past. Now I can’t stand Colbert
and his ilk.Trump bash non stop 24/7/365.I
