American Thinker: Chicago is in the midst of a well publicized epidemic of gun violence. As of September 24, 2800 people have been shot in the city, slightly less than last year’s carnage. The city just “celebrated” its 500th homicide for the year.
Less publicized but just as tragic are the record number of opioid overdoses in the city. The numbers are startling; 18 Chicagoans a day overdose on heroin, morphine, and other drugs both legal and illegal.
The city’s response? They are placing needle receptacles in public washrooms. Beyond that, there’s a lot of talk about treating opioid addiction but resources are lacking. read more
At this rate this place will be a ghost town in 9 month and 14 days. Crime problem solved.
“… but resources are lacking.”
Bullshit!
The Demonrats (socialists) practice a death cult. They have no intention of alleviating the sufferings of their slaves. The more who die, the more money that isn’t spent on them and hence, the more they can steal. These people aren’t producers, but deficits, and so, their deaths are welcomed. Notice that no-one in Chicago (or Illinois, for that matter) is offering to diminish what they’ve stolen (and intend to steal)?
Resources lacking, my ass.
izlamo delenda est …
Chicago- whats not to love? They have the Sears tower or whatever it’s called these days. Murder by gun in the streets and OD’s to boot. Cook County is probably the most corrupt county in the nation or at least in the top 5.
I say stop responding to OD’s. That is a person making a lifestyle choice. No one put a gun to their head and forced them to shoot up. As for the gunshot victims: if it’s a gang banger just leave them where you find them. If it’s an innocent victim then pull out all the stops. Don’t ask me for details I’m in a “big idea” moment so don’t harsh my buzz.
All the money saved can be put back into X. I’d say the schools but with the teacher’s Union not a dollar will effect the kids and 90% of the funds will just be slushed back into the Democratic war machine. But maybe, just maybe the funds saved could be used to help to start to bring the city back from the edge. But maybe not.
Either way. Release the tigers. Let the savages murder/kill themselves. There will be less drug offenders in prison and according to the left that is a must needs to have. There will be less offenders offending. It’s just a win across the board.
They have resources. Their sanctuary city policy funding. They’re paying off lawyers to defend illegals, and providing them free care and education. OK education is laughable, but still. They have money.
“As of September 24, 2800 people have been shot in the city….”
They will still have shootings 783 years from now? Sorry, couldn’t resist.
“… but resources are lacking.”
That’s true. The best resource would be a family unit with a father.
Pelopidas— It would be kinda messed up creepy, but have they ever considered just leaving the gangster’s body laying in the street for all to see? Like maybe over the weekend? Let em see what they could look like with ants crawling in a line from the sidewalks to their mouths. Let them see the rats and pigeons nibbling at their eyes and lips. How mighty is the tough guy when nature makes him her bitch.
A good crisis should never be wasted.
Bad_Brad, that means daddy gubmint has to cut off the welfare to either force baby daddy to stay home, or force baby mama to close her legs.
Checked out Chicago last week….
Yup! It’s still a shithole!
A cerified, wholly owned subsidiary of DemocRAT Shitholes Inc.
Due to the shortage go funds, Chicago will now have 72 hours to remove dead bodies from where they fell.
This would make that city an even deadlier place from disease.

Not until they legalize voter fraud.
Would be interesting to see how many OD victims used legally obtained pain meds. Willing to bet over 99% died from illegally obtained drugs.
Heroin and illegally obtained fentanyl not rx by md. Legally prescribed pain meds arent the issue, unless someone decides to take the whole bottle. “Opioids” cover a lot of ground and are perfectly safe when used as prescribed. Some people actually do have pain that the new wonder drug of marijuana wont touch
