At least 53 people have been shot, five of them fatally, as of Monday morning on Labor Day Weekend 2025 in Chicago.
The weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred at 11:56 p.m. Friday, according to ABC 7, leaving a 25-year-old woman dead.
Nearly 12 hours later, at 11:01 a.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man was shot to death in a drive-by incident. The man and a friend were standing outside “in the 500-block of North Sawyer” when the shooting occurred.
At 7:46 p.m. a 43-year-old woman “in the 900-block of E. 131st Street” was killed when five men walked up to her and began shooting.
Sunday at 1:39 a.m. three men “in the 1900 block of W. 17th Street” were shot and one of them, a 46-year-old, succumbed to his wounds.
At 2:52 a.m. Sunday a 33-year-old man was shot in the head and killed during an argument.
ABC News noted that the weekend violence is raging while Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) refuses President Donald Trump’s efforts to send in the National Guard.
On Saturday, Trump used a social media post to warn Pritzker, “Better straighten it out, FAST, or we’re coming!”

Less than ten percent fatal. I guess we should be thankful these guys don’t spend any time at the range. Or, depending on the moral character of the targets, we should be regretful.

Chicago wears the numbers of shootings and murders as expressions of praise and recognition for achievements of progressivism/marxism.
Two reasons I can think of why they don’t want the feds; first, to protect their hordes of illegals. With the mayor sporting an approval rating of about 5%, they need all the fraud they can muster. Second, accepting help would mean their soft on crime policies have failed miserably. They could give a rat’s ass about the citizens.

Hard to believe but back in my HS days(60s), a cool date was going to the south side of Chicago for BBQ ribs or taking the el to Comiskey Park.
FML, I took “Total Shooting victims OVER 53.5” with my local bookie. Oh well, there’s always next weekend.

Checking the Shot in the Ass O’meter and Shot in the Junk O’meter on HeyJackass after the weekend is always an entertaining way to start the week.
Son graduated from Illinois College Optometry 2015+-, lived in Bridgeport neighborhood (supposedly safe) as Dailey’s old neighborhood.
On occasion he would find spend bullets on his enclosed back porch (punching through thin wall or glass).
Was very happy when he got out of there with no incidents occurring with him involved. Moved to WI and working at a hospital west of Milwaukee. Both he and his wife eye docs. She had relatives living down here in the city and I squirmed every time they’d visit.
There isn’t any safe place in the city anymore and I also graduated HS 65′ and even then some areas were no go for white boys.
Mostly peaceful?
