Liberty Nation: It appears that residents of Chicago have finally become fed up with the Democrats who run their city. Recently, thousands of Chicagoans – mostly black – took to the street to protest Mayor Rahm Emanuel, calling on him to resign because of his failure to decrease crime.
So far, 1,600 of Chicago’s residents have been killed this year. Three of these homicide victims were children playing basketball. During Emanuel’s tenure as mayor, thousands more have lost their lives to gang violence and drug trafficking.
Instead of working to decrease crime, Emanuel has made it more difficult for law enforcement officers to do their jobs. He has failed to improve the quality of education in the city as well, which could be contributing to the city’s poverty rate, and, in turn, leads to more criminal activity.

Chicago residents marched in the streets with signs that read “one city, one Chicago,” and “Rahm has to go.” They expressed their anger at the fact that their Democratic leadership has focused on the development of only one area of the city while leaving the others in crime and poverty.
Crime was the primary focal point for the protesters, but the demonstrators also expressed their disappointment in the mayor’s disastrous economic policies. more here

Idiotic democrat policies have ruled Chicago for way too long. The corrupt power brokers of Chicago have led a once beautiful city right down the path to shithole status. I would guess about 2500 first class funerals would improve the standard of living in this great city. A conservative mayor and council would be the best approach. But that is up to the voters.
To blame every one of Chicago’s ills on a certain color of citizen may be trendy but you have a mayor that defies the enforcement of immigration laws, that fails to support law enforcement officers, is financially illiterate and prefers to ignore his citizens reasonable requests for safety. In addition, 13.4% are from another race. For comparison, the population of Illinois as a whole is 71.5% White and 14.5% black.
It is ridiculous to assume that all crime is done by one race. Remember this was Capone’s stomping grounds. It was dirty then and I doubt its much cleaner now.

I understand your feeling insulted by the “black problem” remark. Our daughter is China-born, and there are some here who make stupid comments about all Chinese, too. But I consider that their problem, not mine. But setting that part of it aside for a moment: Why is it, whenever “the Black Community” complain about problems endemic to the “The Black Community” they never manage to talk about the plank in their own eyes? Why is that? Why do they never bring up most of their teenage girls having babies or their boys ending up in gangs, prison, or both? How come they don’t talk about the obvious problems associated with not having a father around to help raise the children they make, and to provide financially for them, and make sure they don’t end up getting pregnant or in a gang? Why is that? As far as I can tell, all that “Black Power” stuff gave them a big, fat excuse for behaving any old which way they want to, instead of conforming to societal norms (i.e., becoming literate, having command of the English language, knowing how to manage themselves, and creating social change without a gun or rioting). As far as I can tell, the “Black Power” movement proves there are far worse things than being poor. In most (all?) D-run black ghettos, there really is a “black problem.” I do blame the culture within these communities where every kind of anti-social behavior thrives; addictions of all kinds, stupid false pride based on the vanity of being a black person, and the obvious hypocrisy of the black churches within them who help maintain their members’ feelings of “oppression” and having been wronged. Jordan Peterson has a fantastic rant that begins with the idea that religious people are at least one step ahead of the game because they at least know that life is suffering.
Thomas Sowell wrote a collection of essays, “Black Rednecks and White Liberals”. It’s quite a provocative view of why inner city black communities are the way they are. I highly recommend it.

I’m not sure what they expect Trump to do. He can’t send in the army and declare Martial Law, he can’t summarily remove Rahm and the entire city council, I don’t think he can unilaterally place the CPD under a federal mandate (like LAPD was). Maybe he can figure something out but I’d let it be known (carefully) that nothing will be done until after the November elections when he can see whether the black population is serious about change.
I’m as harsh as can be to the state of black society in America, but I never criticize with the “the black brain is inferior to the white man’s” blanket hovering in the background.
I’ll tell you why.
Even if science can prove that the aggregate black IQ is lower than the white IQ, that doesn’t mean any one individual white person is more intelligent than any one individual black person.
I’d be a bit of a dipshit to put this “achievement” on my resume, or claim “white supremacy” when I could very well be average IQ myself.

There are LOT’s of people who vote the way of “their people”. It’s Cultural Politics. My entire family voted D just because as far back as anyone knew, that’s how we all voted. Embarrassing to admit, but sometimes in my callow youth, I voted for the name I recognized and had no other reason. Living in a D area, that name was usually D, but who knows? it could have been an R. We’re damn lucky that enough black Americans are at least paying attention to the dramatic news out of this administration. God knows how they’re getting this news. It’s a miracle.
