‘Chicago Seven’ Activist, Dies at 80

“Activist”

DENVER (AP) — Rennie Davis, one of the “Chicago Seven” activists who was tried for organizing an anti-Vietnam War protest outside the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago in which thousands clashed with police in a bloody confrontation that horrified a nation watching live on television, has died. He was 80.

Davis died Tuesday of lymphoma at his home in Berthoud, Colorado, his wife, Kirsten Liegmann, told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

A longtime peace activist, Davis was national director of the community organizing program for the anti-war Students for a Democratic Society and was a protest coordinator for the Chicago convention. more

  1. @Class of 71

Interesting point. But having a “peacenik” outlook isn’t worth much nowadays.

What is bizarre to me is that Vietnam may act now as a roadblock of sorts to China’s expansionist moves. They have clashed a few times since we pulled out in ’72.

Eventually China would probably overwhelm Vietnam militarily, but it could slow down their march across SE Asia for awhile. Communist vs communist again, just like Mao and Kruschev.

  2. But the super duper trustworthy media and Nancy Pelosi said Jan 6 was the worst attack in our country’s history. This article needs to be sent to the Ministry of Truth to be rewritten.

  3. Never had much use for ‘The Chicago Seven’. Thought they were filth… I was active Military at the time. But you gotta give them credit for one thing. They did prove that our Judicial System (such as it was/is) only works if you co-operate with it.

  4. I would have protested that war too. In fact, most wars the U.S. has entered during it’s young history. I also would have / and do oppose other globalist enterprises such as the UN, WHO, IMF, and the WTO. People need to be consistent. Which is why I find it fascinating that the same people who opposed the Patriot Act (correctly so) are willing to hand over their freedoms during the scamdemic.
