Women make up 12-14% of police officers in the United States. A good portion of these are newer, younger, and DEI.
How is it that there are so many female police chiefs.
Our Air Force Unit imported a woman captain who was a real disaster. Instead of getting to know anyone in the rank and file, many senior NCOs who knew a great deal about our jobs, she came in like a bull in a china shop; implementing a good number of process directives, etc. She was very insecure, and ignorant power of the inherent power her rank conferred, so she “lead” with a tight a$$. We tried to like her, but she made that impossible. I learned a very good lesson about managing a job from her. You don’t manage people who are good at what they do; you bring them into your plans and gain their cooperation and support by having a good plan and exploiting everyone’s strengths and talents. It helps if all your team members have the same end goals.
It’s kind of a shame that there seems to be too many women leaders who fail because they are insecure about being a woman in “a man’s world”. If they focused on their competence and worked hard to persuade those under them of that competence, they’d be fine. I will say that it’s not only women who could learn that lesson. There are plenty of men who fail in these ways as well.
Has she charged the victims yet for using their Faces to injure the assailant’s knuckles?
