Cliven Bundy inspiring push to let states control federal land

WaExam: Groups that take their ideological cues from Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy have been linked to legislation in 11 Western states that aim to turn over federal lands to the states, according to a new report.

The Center for Western Priorities report comes on the heels of as criticism of the government from Tea Party and Western lawmakers for what they call poor management of federal land. They have argued that the states are better positioned to take care of those lands, and cite large maintenance backlogs at federal parks. Β more

  1. TX historian David Barton did a segment on Beck’s TV show a few months ago that showed how and why the feds own most of the western states. He showed U.S. maps corresponding with years/parties in office. The original 13 Colonies were the work of the Founders and have tiny portions of federally owned land. Remember that, “We the People” stuff?

    As the country grew westward and states were added, more and more progressives came into office, and voila!

    Worth the price of the subscription alone.
