  1. Jackie Mason – ah, he had a prominent middle finger and knew how to use it.

I still to this day remember at least one of his jokes on the Sullivan show. A garbage Truck was going trhrougn a residential section and an inelegant lady in a pink housecoat, hair in curlers, wearing pink slippers and carrying a bag of garbage was chasing the truck and yelled out “Am I too late?”. The Driver answered, “No Lady, Hop in”.

Well, in 1963, I thought that was about the funniest thing I had ever heard.

  2. True story: Big Fur Hat and I were in the car driving home from conducting art business in Manhattan, mid 1980s. We were stopped in traffic right in front of the theatre where Jackie Mason had a show. On the Marquee was a review that said, “I laughed so hard I plotzed.” Right after seeing that, the man himself, Jackie Mason came out of the front doors. BFH started to roll the car window down and I said, “Oh, Jeez…”
He yelled out “Hey, Jackie! I’m plotzing right now in the car!”
We had no idea what it even meant.
Jackie was a real patriot. RIP.
