Conservative-friendly Paramount boss pining to buy Warner Bros., maybe even take over CNN

BPR: David Ellison, the chairman and CEO of Paramount Skydance Corporation, is reportedly trying to buy the company that owns CNN.

This is a big deal because Ellison is the same man whom BizPac Review recently revealed is also considering buying The Free Press and giving founder Bari Weiss a role at CBS News that would task her “with guiding the editorial direction of the division.”

The Free Press is a classically liberal, conservative-friendly news and opinion outfit — one despised by left-wing propagandists. Weiss likewise is a classically liberal commentator who has in recent years distanced herself from the Democratic Party.

News of Ellison’s interest in purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery, the conglomerate that owns CNN, broke on Thursday via The Wall Street Journal, which revealed that he wants to bid “for the entire company, including its cable networks and movie studio.” more
