Country singer Justin Carter shot by gun used as prop for music video, dies

DC:

Rising Texas country singer Justin Carter has passed away after suffering injuries from an accidental shooting Thursday.

Carter was shot by a gun that was being used as a prop in a music video, according to ABC11.

Carter had recently signed a record deal with Triple Threat Management. “Justin had a potential to, you know, in our eyes, and a lot of people’s eyes to be the next Garth Brooks,” Mark Atherton of Triple Threat Management told ABC11

Atherton told ABC the gun was being kept at Carter’s apartment, but was eventually going to be used as a prop in a video.

Carter spent most of his time devoted to his music and could easily be found at the recording studio. “His music was his world. He was always there for everybody,” his mother, Cindy McClellan, said.

Triple Threat Management intends to release the rest of Carter’s recorded music with the proceeds made going to Carter’s family.  MORE

  1. My cousin is a gun fanatic. Everytime he gets a gun he gives it to me to check out. The first thing I do is remove the magazine/open the cylinder. Then I will rack the slide several times plus visually examine the chamber. I never point the gun in anyone’s direction or pull the trigger. Stupidity is an easy way to kill or be killed.

  2. NEVER point a REAL weapon at ANYTHING you don’t intend to kill.

NEVER allow someone ELSE to point a REAL weapon at YOU unless you are willing to die.

NEVER TREAT ANY WEAPON AS THOUGH IT IS UNLOADED, EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE IT IS.

The consequences for ignoring these rules can be severe, immediate, and messy.

    As Mr. Carter found out.

May God have mercy on him. Prayers for his family.

Meh. One Garth Brooks was too many for me.

  4. I had firearms safety training when I was ten years old and learned that you treat EVERY gun as if it was loaded. The article didn’t give specific details on who was holding the gun but whoever it was is responsible. Too bad, this guy was talented.

  5. Rest In Peace.
It’s worth remembering that of the 30,000 shooting deaths each year, 20,000+ are voluntary suicides, ~9,000 are gang murders, nearly all by “vibrant diverse urban youths”, over drugs/drug cash. But only 300 of the 30,000, barely 1%,
    are classed as “accidents”.
More Americans drown in backyard swimming pools each year than die of “accidental” gunshots. May the Lord be with his family and loved ones.

  6. We need to remove Larry the lib’s backyard kiddie pool before he hurts himself. They can be dangerous in the wrong hands and we don’t want to read about his tragic loss.

  7. 70,000+ drug overdose deaths 2017. Never hear any concerns from the left. Probably because most of them are drug abusers. But 300 accidental gun deaths in one year and the left is ordered go crazy demanding guns be outlawed?

  8. Hey Larry the Libtard — One rape is too many (I think you would agree).

Since there are so many rapes that occur each and every year
when are you going to cut off your penis to help prevent the next one?

  9. If it is a gun it is loaded until proven otherwise. No exceptions, no excuses. Blanks, hollow points, ANYTHING that might come out of the barrel could harm or kill. Never assume or take anyone’s word.
