WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal appeals court ruled Friday that President Donald Trump had no legal right to impose sweeping tariffs on almost every country on earth but left in place for now his effort to build a protectionist wall around the American economy.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Trump wasn’t legally allowed to declare national emergencies and impose import taxes on almost every country on earth, a ruling that largely upheld a May decision by a specialized federal trade court in New York.
“It seems unlikely that Congress intended to … grant the President unlimited authority to impose tariffs,” the judges wrote in a 7-4 ruling.
But they did not strike down the tariffs immediately, allowing his administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court.
The president vowed to do just that. “If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America,” Trump wrote on his social medial platform.
White House spokesman Kush Desai said Trump had acted lawfully, and “we look forward to ultimate victory on this matter.” MORE
Judgement rendered on “seems unlikely” is a ruling on personal opinion and nothing to do with law.
So, who in Congress will propose ’emergency’ legislation to give the President the authority to do what he’s already doing, and moot the whole legal mess?

1. “..seems unlikely..” Used because the court knows its ruling is on shaky legal ground, or
2. The Leftist judges are hoping for Tarifflation that will give them fodder for the next 2 federal elections.
This appeals court is packed with hard leftists. They’ve been obstructing the duties of the president at every turn. Trump knows that every move he makes is on solid legal ground and also that they will be obstructed by any of hundreds of democrat appointed operatives posing as judges.
We need a hanging judge to hang all this Communist Death Democrat Judges, Pronto. They are a mortal danger to all of us and our Republic.
