Communism’s Failures Up Close and Personal
One can barely walk a block without a tribute to the Castro brothers, Che Guevara, their revolution, and even Hugo Chávez, although what they are to be thanked for remains a mystery. And with internet access almost nonexistent, locals are left with little other than regime-approved media. For newspapers, I saw the Granma, the “official voice” of the Communist Party of Cuba, but that was about it, and I felt sorry for the visibly poor man trying to persuade me that a copy was worth US$1 (a day’s salary there), 25 times what he actually sells it for.
I wish all socialist members of the left would move to Cuba.
I hear it’s wonderful.
Cuban Communism:
So great that the only people who like it are prissy Ivy league assholes. So awful people swim across 90 miles of shark infested waters to escape it.
The truth is that most people in Cuba were for a rebellion against Batista and Castro said that all he wanted to do was win the rebellion against Batista. And then when he got the chance and there was no force on Cuba to stop him he betrayed the rebellion against Batista and set himself up as the sole power.
Castro betrayed the rebellion and the fight to win a real free democratic country. For that and his subsequent crimes against humanity he and his rat faced brother need to receive the ultimate justice.
To pretend that Castro is a head of state and that his rule is a legitimate government is worse than perverse. My heart goes out to the Cuban people. The only way we can help them is to topple their tormentors.
