RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Democrat Cal Cunningham conceded to incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis in North Carolina on Tuesday, saying “the voters have spoken” and it was clear Tillis had won.
With Cunningham’s concession, all eyes turned to Georgia, where two U.S. Senate runoff races in January are likely to determine the balance of the upper chamber.
With votes still uncounted and the races in North Carolina and Alaska still too early to call Tuesday, the Senate remained tied 48-48. Alaska GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan is favored for another term against Al Gross, an independent running as a Democrat. If the Senate ended up tied 50-50, Democratic Vice President-elect Kamala Harris would wield the tiebreaking vote.
Georgia is closely divided, with Democrats making gains on Republicans, fueled by a surge of new voters. But no Democrat has been elected senator in 20 years.
In North Carolina, Tillis led Cunningham by more than 95,000 votes, or 1.76 percentage points. more
yay!

Time to get his affairs in order.

Poor Cal Cunningham. Such a promising political future brought low by his failure to finish the last couple of courses in former Senator John Edwards’ School of Mistress Management. Those were the ones that warned husbands to never email or text a side piece; especially an unstable, vindictive one with a husband who might discover her sexting and emails. This was a costly sexual transaction. It cost his supporters $66 million. That’s a very expensive bit of strange stuff. Oh, well. He can always crawl back home in a year or two.
Say it ain’t so Chairman Joe. Say all the seats for demonrats!
“If the Senate ended up tied 50-50, Democratic vice president-elect Kamala Harris would wield the tie-breaking vote.”
What the hell? That election ISN’T DECIDED EITHER, you assholes.
Now he can seek comfort with the next homewrecking whore he encounters.
Unfortunately, Comrade Cooper is still NC Governor. We’ll be locked down for another four years. The majority NC Republican legislature don’t seem to have a way to stop this edict obsessed, lunatic governor.
People should have known what his character was (or lack thereof) before the affair was known about. After all, he didn’t just wake up one morning and say: “Ya knooow…. today seems like a good day to start acting like a democRAT!”
He’s been one for years!!
