DC Mayor Scrambles to Remove Street Ads Chastising Trump as Trash

The Trump-Trash ads featured the official logos of the Mayor’s Office of the Clean City and the DC Department of Public Works.  The hashtag #TrashFreeDC—which the mayor’s office uses—was also visible.

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s administration scrambled to remove advertisements placed at transit stops that linked President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters to trash—an offensive comparison that had landed President Joe Biden in deep trouble earlier this year.

The ads—which Bowser’s office seemingly approved—featured a prohibition sign over an image of Trump wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat while holding a Project 2025 book. One billboard, displayed at a bikeshare station at 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, stated, “Keep DC Trash Free.”

In response to the ads, DDOT claimed it had not authorized the content, stating it was not created or funded by the D.C. government.  more

  1. The denials are not believable.

My guess is that some low-level prankster put the poster together as a bad joke, expecting that all his buddies would get a chuckle before somebody ‘upstairs’ would veto it. But instead, the incompetent bureaucrats upstairs were too stupid to get the joke and the thing passed through the approval process like shit through a goose. Now, they’re back-pedaling and slipping and sliding on all that goose shit.

I think the whole episode is hilarious!

  2. I am uneasy with all this “Kiss and makeup” stuff going on. First Joe and Mika, now this god-awful woman. I think he is using the old “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” tactic, a head fake lulling them into complacency. And yes, he has displayed a conciliatory tone of late, but these people are snakes, they will never be our friends or facilitate his agenda in any way. Put them all on a list, to be dealt with at a later date.

I’ve seen this game before. Might a played it a time or two when I was younger myself. I’m thinking this is still 2024, the revenge tour. I’ll be sadly disappointed if he lets these people off the hook. If there’s any type of justice still alive in this country there’s a price to be paid for her behavior. And her behavior was spurred on by none other than the likes of Nancy Pelosi and General Milley. I’m still looking forward to the military tribunals. If this type of justice is not pursued, and evil isn’t beaten back to where it came from, we’re still in big trouble. I hope to God he follows through.

  4. “What the hell do you make of this?”

Funny, when I first read the headline my brain went immediately to hiring and wage freeze for all government workers, that is whats needed.

The social media freeze seems a bit Orwellian, the thinking behind it, I suspect is,”Hey guys, we got confirmation hearings coming up, let’s not poke the bear or stir up unneeded controversy”.

It is odd, since Trump has made a living on social media.

  5. Thoughts on nominee social media freeze: I’m assuming that President Trump and his senior people have war-gamed the hell out of the nomination process/hearings and the don’t want anything new thrown into that mess that they’d have little to no time to prep for. We’ve all seen the enemedia take the most innocent comments and warp the shit out of them so they can scream real loud about it, drowning out any other legitimate commentary. This social media freeze simply helps block that kind of crap.

Why would she order Trumps picks to be silent, and then offer up that disclaimer? I’m not feeling good about this. Does Trump know about this?
By the way, I stumbled on your e mail address on my old cell phone. I’d like to use it. I completely understand if your against it. But we do seem to be in the same grove again.
